We haven't stayed here, but the terrace is very nice for a drink. You have a very nice view at the Cathedral on one site, and at the other side the river with nice buildings!

Good location and price, friendly staff. A little small in all dimensions and the bar/restaurant was marginal.

It is a nice hotel centrally located. It has only 2 stars, but most of the rooms have ensuite bathrooms. We stayed in 4 rooms in the attached house outside of the actual hotel, just about 20 metres away, very close to the river. It is charmy but unfortunately the river stinks. So rooms below top floor may not have the window open if you have a fine nose. All rooms here were clearly very new and pretty big, also the bathrooms. Earlier, we have looked inside the hotel, and found the rooms to be acceptable with renewed small bathrooms and some tired rooms. Since we stayed this time a few metres away, we were not bothered with traffic but I guess some rooms may have problems with noice from street traffic and from the restaurant in the first floor. The personnell wants to give service but can misunderstand some because they lack very much in speaking English. Which is common many places in France, in my experience. They could earn so much more in tips if they actually understood what their guests said. Ex they misunderstood the way we wanted to split the restaurant bill between the 4 rooms.

Room Tip: Biggest room is on the top floor in the attached house.

Checked in the Reine Mathilde this afternoon after a long train trip from London. The reviews are right on the money. Simple but very clean and an excellent value. Location can't be beat - close to the Tapestry and the cathedral. An added bonus is that the attached restaurant is equally as good. Helpful, english speaking staff. Relatively easy parking - free lot a couple of blocks away and daytime pay lot directly across the street.

Room Tip: Stayed in a basic double on second floor. Tight but manageable. Only negative, of sorts, is that wit...

Found by accident, it was the only 2 star on the signpost. What a gem. two wet soaked and grubby unbooked cycclists could not have had a warmer welcome. Very friendly reception. Electric heating in the room - so we could dry stuff out. Dinner in the brasseries was excellent and breakfast included eggs, cereales, fruit, cheese as well as croissant , bread and all the juice, coffee, tea etc. Room 12 had a view of the cathedrale and was up in the roof. Its right in the City Centre and at 70 euros B&B for two with bikes locked in the garage was a bargain. Would not hesitate to go back.

Room Tip: Room 12 does have a sloping ceiling might not suit everyone - we loved it and it had a great view of...
