Great home base for this area, clean, small but very nice rooms. Small outdoor seating area, that is great for a late afternoon drink. Needs a little TLC outside(weeding and a few plants would be great and really add the the charm of this place). No elevator so you will have to carry your bag up a couple flights of chairs, but not a big problem.
We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Newer part of hotel.

This is a lovely old world hotel in the heart of Bayeux. The reception area is small and there is no separate concierge, and the young man manning it seemed a bit overwhelmed that it was just him fielding check-in and enquiries regarding tours of the beaches of Normandy or restaurant recommendations, though he then gave us brochures that covered answers to many questions. The rooms are all equipped with a very heavy metal key which you leave in the reception area when you leave the hotel; certainly a throw back to days gone by. The room was small but completely adequate for our needs and the rates were excellent. There is breakfast available for a separate fee if desired, but there are a number of small places very nearby if all you want is a good coffee and croissant or breakfast sandwich. The most charming feature of the hotel is all of the photographs and memorabilia from the 1940s, which line the walls of the halls and are in the reception and common areas, which was very unique and very interesting to us, as we had travelled specifically to visit the beaches of Normandy. Bayeux itself is charming and well worth a return visit another time. We will definitely stay at Hotel Churchill if our travels bring us to the area again.

We were on public transport and walked to the hotel from the station (easy walk on a nice day.) The Normandy landings bring many (especially US) tourists here but we were going to see the tapistry. That worked really well, it was just yards away and we arrived at the museum a little after 9am with no queues and just walked in. The hotel is also right on the high street which is pedestrianised. Town and hotel and museum all good. Getting the bathroom to lock was hard and getting it unlocked even harder. In the end decided to use the "do not disturb" sign instead.

Updated old world hotel in the center of Bayeux. A great find and a place I would recommend to all.We stayed three days and looked at adding an extra night, but they were booked. The hotel is walking distance to the Bayeux Tapestry and the the Notre Dame Cathedral and situated on a small canal. The hotel offers and arranged our trip to Mt. Saint Michel; and were the starting point for our Viator trip to the Normandy Beaches. Staff is great and very helpful. Moved all our luggage when we needed to shift rooms because of stairs.

Room Tip: There is no elevator, so be specific in your room needs.

We based out of Bayeux on a 4 day Normandy excursion. Great location near the Tapestry, wonderful restaurants and we enjoyed the nice breakfast daily. New section is nicely done and entire property has air conditioning now. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Room facing the pedestrian street
