the hotel was easy to find from the airport at montpelier, it is just off a roundabout where there are 2 supermarkets and a fuel station which were very handy. the grounds of the hotel are very pleasant and we were able to park outside our room. we were met by the hotel owner who welcomed us most warmly, he spoke very good english and gave us a short talk about what to see in the area and showed us to our room which are all on the ground floor in a L shaped courtyard configuration, all the rooms had a small terraced area at the front with a table and 2 chairs. the rooms although not huge are adequate, you enter the bedroom area first which have a double bed with bedside tables and lamps, tv on the wall, and a desk and chair, we also had air con if we wished to use it and a safe in the wardrobe. the bathroom was a good size with a vanity unit with a hairdryer and shaver point, free toiletries, there was a corner bath with a shower over. we had a restful stay , we thought we may be disturbed by traffic but this wasnt the case. we paid extra for breakfast and were not disappointed it was loveley, cereals, pastries, fruit, yoghurts, cheese, eggs, meats, the staff all working so hard to make your stay special they took a lot of pride in their hotel, the breakfast room and pool area was a delight.the hotel grounds are gated - you are given a code for the gates for if you come back in after 10pm.the only suggestion i would make is that a refridgerator in the room would be much appreciated.

I stayed here with my family for 4 nights over Easter. The location is excellent - easy to find with free on site parking. The staff are excellent, friendly and very eager to help. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again.

This month we spent 2 days at the Royal Hotel in Aigues-Mortes. When we checked in, the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are not that big but the size is reasonable for a hotel of this category. Our room had a terrace from which we could see the hotel's pool. The pool itself is clean and great for a quick swim in the morning or after returning from sightseeing. It is cleaned by the staff every morning before it is opened for the guests.
The area in which the hotel is located is nothing special as it is an industrial area. Those who choose not to have breakfast at the hotel can go to the supermarket which is right across the street.
The hotel is a bit far away from the historic center of Aigues-Mortes but it can be reached by foot in about 20 minutes. By car you arrive quicker and parking is easy to find near the city walls.

I returned to this hotel after 20 years and the surroundings have dramatically changed, it's now surrounded by a commercial park. the set up is that each room is a small 'villa' therefore you have an outside table by your 'front door'. The hotel has a new management that have done extensive work and are very professional and very friendly.
The room was clean and simple (expected from a 2*), the breakfast offered variety and there was plenty of it.
There is a small swimming pool that comes in handy to cool down during the summer.
The location lets it down (or stops it from getting more * I guess), you'll need to drive to Aigues-mortes & the beach. Cost-wise it'll probably struggle vs hotel chains for a family of 4 like us (E115 vs Novotel E75) but it does give a personal service

We found the hotel so very nice, we wondered what the catch was! In fact, there wasn't really one, except possibly that it is a good 15 minutes' walk from the town, and it was not obvious that you could get through to the banks of the canal via the Super U! But the hotel itself was lovely - the rooms ample, huge bathrooms and a little terrace where you could sit and eat a picnic meal. The rooms were refurbished last year, and it shows! There is a swimming-pool, too, and free Internet access.

We really liked it, and enjoyed our two nights there.
