I was invited to this restaurant that is located in the 15 eme by my wife's aunt and her husband that live in Chatillion. the restaurant is run by a family the husband cooks and the wife welcomes. we had a special welcome as the people inviting me where close friends of the owners.I had Le “Parfait” de race Charolaise (O.F.) de 200gr. grillé à la plancha
crème d’Armagnac, raisins macérés et grosses frites au couteau

it was superb and don't forget the best Baba aux rhum I have ever had in my life.

We were on a quest to find great sud-oest cuisine and had a local friend recommend this restaurant. Luckily we were staying closeby otherwise the area is quiet/out-of-the-way although a charming park is across the street (Parc Georges Brassens) and a nice brasserie with terrace seating is next door for pre-dinner drinks.

First, we want to thank the proprietress who was extremely nice and attentive (it was a slow night). When we weren't sure what type of red wine to select she poured us a recommended sample (the Chateau de Pennautier, same average price as the rest of the wine menu, ) and allowed us to test until we found one we liked. Also, after finding out we were leaving France the next day, she gave us a free bottle of the wine we drank to take home as a souvenir! She explained that her and her husband (the chef) keep in touch with their patrons and see themselves as part of a community. It was such a sweet gesture!

As for the food, it was mainly classic dishes of the southwest region (i.e., cassoulet, duck confit, terrine) but with some creative twists. For example, we had the foie gras entree which had a homemade savory macaroon and citrus chutney spiked with Indian spices. The dish was delicious - the foie gras had a smooth texture and robust flavor - but the chutney was a bit overpowering, it's served on the side so not an issue.

For main dishes, we ordered the cassoulet and duck confit. The duck confit was cooked perfectly and braised in-house, which supposedly is not as common in French restaurants nowadays (we discussed this with the proprietress). The cassoulet was a huge portion, enough for 2 people, and included a duck leg, pork sausage, and ham slice. It was pretty traditional with very tender and flavorful beans and duck meat, but the pork sausage was average.

For dessert we had the chocolate fondant which was as perfect as it can get - warm with gooey middle and served with cream not ice cream. Also of note, their tisane selection was very gourmet and I tried the fennel tisane which was surprising and helpful to digest our gluttinous dinner.

In terms of ambience, it's classic looking with French countryside decorations.

If you're in the mood of hearty sud-oest cuisine with friendly service and charming countryside decor, and you happen to be near the 15th, we highly recommend this restaurant. Say hello to the proprietress for us!

This is an average looking restaurant with great south-western French food. The service is not up to the standard of the menu but certainly acceptable. The location is on a small square across from a park - all of which add to the charm.

This is a small, local restaurant in the south of Paris. It looks just like any other local brasserie but the cooking is way above average and the staff very friendly.
