We thought we would treat ourselves to a fine meal as it was our first night in Paris for 10 days of beer and football during Euro 2016... this place did not disappoint.

This Italian is not the sort you can stumble across but we found it due to the trip advisor reviews. You enter through a shop which sells the most amazing looking authentic Italian food. You go down a small flight of stairs and the restaurant is in a small basement with a mere half a dozen tables. We were greeted by a very friendly Italian waiter who was the absolute body double of Ramiro Funes Mori (Argenina and Everton centre back). His English wasn't fantastic but we shared a common bond... football, Italy had just won that day and England the day before so we were in jovial mood.

He provided us with ample bread and offered us a free tomato soup with mascarponi in to get us going. A great little touch to get our pallets going. To start we had deep fried mozzarella balls which came with chopped tomato and onion. I have never tasted tomato like this, beautifully sweet they were simply perfect. For main I chose pasta with a arrabbiata sauce and pancetta. Again simply perfect. Our man offered me as much parmesan as I liked which is always a winner. The pasta was clearly home made and cooked al dente, as it should be! I can not fault the food we had at all. I have been to Rome, Florence and Venice in recent years and it matched everything I experienced over there.

Take a bow Funes.

Run don't walk if you are hungry for an excellent Italian dinner. The chef and the waiter are both Sicilian. The food is creative, yet very authentic and the service is friendly and attentive. Both men are dear people who aim to provide a delightful dining experience.
We are staying right next door but almost missed IL giramondo because the deli is at street level and the restaurant is down stairs -- enter through the deli.
We had dinner at this trattoria on three consecutive nights.
If we lived in Paris we'd definitely be regulars!
We had the risotto, the lasagna, rigatoni, and a delicious white fish dish. The wine and desserts are delicious, too.

"very friendly welcome, the restaurant is in a small room very well equipped in the basement of a beautiful Italian deli. The midday menu is advantageous. What we got was excellent cream of asparagus soup,, charcuterie plate, eggplant and tuna pasta, chicken leg with rosemary (perfectly roasted), tiramisu and lemon tart, 2 glasses of wine, 2 coffees: € 67 a very good place with a very nice atmosphere. we will come back

We stayed in an apartment while travelling so we were lucky enough to be able to eat like locals. To an extent where we used the markets often and then took sides etc from local shops. Although the resteraunt is located near the Eiffel tower, they have a small shop as well on rue duviveir where you can simply grab prepared entrées or sides and take home. We visited twice, both times grabbing small things to compliment our meals (sautéed shrimp, artichoke salad etc) and both times the food was great at a very reasonable price

You must reserve if you want to eat here. All the customers when we went were tourists but don't be put off. The food is far from the usual fare offered to tourists. Charming staff enjoyed trying out their English on us, indeed they insisted! Three courses for 34 euros and wine available by the glass.
