The only thing really preventing this restaurant from having high ratings is the location; between Couronnes & Oberkampf metro, it tends to pull the local crowds rather than the tourists who are more prone to leave reviews. In actual fact La Reine de Saba was not my first choice of meal last Friday, mine was located near the Latin Qtr and I had been there before and loved the food and hoped to return but they were unable to confirm a booking, something that I often like doing to avoid disappointment. The disappointment was La Reine de Saba's blessing.

I opted for the 20 euro special. You get a mix of everything and what a MASSIVE mix ; doro wat (spicy or mild chicken with a boiled egg in it), stewed beef, minced meat, assorted vegetables, like lentils, spinach, cabbage, and even salad. The whole concotion is served on a large round injera bread and a plate of more injera bread on the side. I WAS STUFFED. This was probably one of the best non French meals that I have ever had in Paris and I will definitely return without a doubt.

Remember to have coffee. This was an entirely different experience. They roast the beans and pass the roasting beans around the the hot pan so that you can smell the wonderful aroma. This is what you call FRESH COFFEE. They bring it on a tray to your table with a little incense burning on a piece of coal. You can imagine what a delight it must be to turn up at your mates house in Ethiopia for a quick coffee.

Great food, friendly professional staff. Will I be back? You bet I will. I'm trying to find an excuse to return for work next month as I type.

Thanks for an spectacular evening. Ethiopian food is seriously underrated.

Restaurant was full when we came on Saturday night. Atmosphere was lively and very warm. Waiter was friendly and helpful. Food was authentic enough to satisfy my longing for Ethiopian food. Haven’t tried other Ethiopian restaurants in Paris so This one is the best

Unforgettably good food served by two very sweet ladies. And if you've never tried Ethiopian food get the big share platter. Nice easy vibe in the restaurant. You will leave very full. Book in advance!

We met friends for dinner at this lovely place. It’s a family story, including a warm welcome. We recommend the house cocktail based on ginger, some (but not much) rhum and mango or pineapple. Yummy! After that we went for a traditional common plate to share. Ask for being introduced on how to eat. It’s definitely fun! More than reasonable prices. Hint: do not ever forget to put a reservation! The restaurant is tiny …

Met up with a nice bunch of friends who live in Paris so like a change in food style. It's not a very good representation of this style of food, but then in Paris you rarely get really good foreign-style food. The coffee was great, the share plate not especially interesting, and the wine pretty bad. Not very busy though and the waitress was pretty attentive. Nice décor.
