We took the train from CDG and got our apt key right out front at La Strada, Marie's coffee shop. Marie and Marc Labat are the owners. Marc has his store in front as well, and his offices upstairs. They are very helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations.
The apartment is modern and very attractive. The bed is comfortable and the shower pressure is great. There is a small kitchen with a stovetop, microwave and a fridge. We have had breakfast here every morning and a few midnight snacks.
The neighborhood is lively with good restaurants and fun shops. There is a supermarket around the corner that sells food and wine. Located in Le Marais, it is very nearby the Pompidou. It is very easy to get around by subway/metro. In Paris all the attractions are close by so you can walk all day or choose to ride a bike, taxi, bus or metro.
Pack comfortable shoes, an umbrella, and Rick Steve's Paris 2014.
The location and the apt itself were great. Clean and comfortable, close to everything but not as touristy. We were there for four nights but would have easily stayed much longer. The owner, Mark, was very helpful and accessible. His wife, Marie, runs a coffee shop next door where they serve TRULY good coffee. You can also have breakfast there if you don't want to prepare it yourself in the apt.
This is our third trip to Paris and we have been delighted by our accommodation here in Marais at the Rue Du Temple
The bed is large and the perfect firmness, shower is warm and powerful, small kitchen has the fundamentals for some nights in taking advantage of the local cuisine. The split of the apartment into three distinct areas: bedroom, kitchen & bathroom makes settling in easy, particularly if one person has jet lag.
Love the surrounds in Marais! the ancient streets and the fresh baguettes- but of course. There is lots to watch as the local wholesales sell their baubles: when we were here there was lots of buzz!
This is our first visit to Paris in winter: mostly mild weather with some chilly blasts but it provided us with different insights and famously very short queues at the major museums etc.
Thanks to Marc for his hospitality and to the staff at the cafe that is 30 metres for the door. It is a great source of caffeinated pleasure!
