Very convenient location, clean, stylish and cozy rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast and the smallest elevator I have seen so far:).

I’d say most of the reviews here give you a good idea of the hotel. Personally I did not find the rooms overly small; we saw both a superior and deluxe—choose to stay in the deluxe—and would say the space gained in the upgrade was negligible but the location of the deluxe sold us. The hotel is by no means quiet, especially if you find yourself road-side, plus the interior doors tend to slam quite heavily. That said, there is no way I would stay here at their standard published rates. They’re simply excessive for what you get. It is a nice hotel. The staff is quite helpful and friendly. The location is grand. Just look for a deal or look to book somewhere else.
The area—Latin Quarter—is fine, though quite overrun with tourists. You can easily walk to Notre Dame, The Louvre, Pantheon, and etc. Both the metro and RER are quite close to the hotel too. And Luxemburg Gardens is right around the corner—a nice respite from the city and all the tourists.
This was not our first stay in Paris and will not be our last. Through the experience was not bad I doubt I would stay at the Hotel Sorbonne again.

The reason for the title was the room we were initially given (number 1) was on the ground floor next to the lobby, a staff office, a toilet and a courtyard. The four combined made for a very noisy first night and so, despite not being ones to complain, we did.

The staff were amongst the friendliest and understanding I've come across. Although they couldn't move us the first day they upgraded us for our second night to a great room overlooking one of the Sorbonne buildings.

This is a very stylishly decorated and furnished hotel which perhaps will not be to everyone's taste and I wonder whether it might look a little dated in a few years. I liked the decor personally. Every room has an iMac though why you'd want to be on the internet when you have the Latin Quarter at your doorstep is slightly beyond me.

Breakfast is a little peculiar in that you have to make your own eggs and the dining room is small and stuffy. We didn't get breakfast the second day and actually there are plenty of great places around to get a decent French breakfast.

The location is great for sights and close to several metro stations. The Pantheon is round the corner as are all the fantastic university buildings and it's a short walk to St Germain for the glamour or all the old Orwell haunts.

Great hotel but maybe not everyone's cup of tea.

Room Tip: Get one of the larger rooms and avoid room 1 unless you're a light sleeper

I have just returned from a 2 night stay and as lots of others have said its a great hotel in a great location. I will definitely stay there again if I return to Paris. Yes the rooms are compact, but that seems to be the norm for central Paris. And yes the bathroom was tiny (I don't know how they managed to fit it in such a tight space!), but its part of the experience. The hotel is very smart, great design/decor and the staff are very friendly & helpful.

First night we ate in a brasserie 30 seconds away on Place de la Sorbonne which was very good, second night at Bistroy Les Papilles, 5 mins walk away, read the TA reviews they are right, its superb but best to book (the hotel did this for me in advance of our stay).
