2 mins away from the Metro.
15-20 mins walk away from the Eiffel Tower.
Near shops and restaurants, but far enough up a quiet street so it was not noisy.
Comfy bed in a rather quaint room. Also clean!
Staff were lovely and friendly.

I have been drawn back to this hotel for a second time as it represents excellent value. First, it is really well located, being very close to a metro station which is interconnected by 3 lines. It is also a stroll to the Eiffel Tower and is located just behind Rue de Commerce with its great clothes and food shops. Second, the rooms are delightfully appointed in a charming French way. The rooms however are small and dependent upon the room selection can be noisy. The bathrooms are a reasonable size. Third, there is the most delightful walled courtyard where breakfast is served (weather permitting). Breakfast is good but in my view overpriced. The rooms are however not - representing great value in an expensive city.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the elevator are preferable.

The only good thing about the hotel is the location. One block away from Metro 6 & 10 and some buses and about 20min walk to the Eiffel Tower. Now to the negatives - no rooms with airconditioner or potent fans (we visited mid end July avg heat 90degrees!). The double room booked was tiny tiny tiny. No clothes iron allowed or available in the rooms - they allow you to iron in the unfinished basement. They require the room key are left with the front desk every time you leave the hotel. They claim 24hr front desk but the night guy goes to bed before 12 midnight. Returned one night after 12:30am and had to ring the bell more than once and also knock at the door before anyone opened. No mini fridge or many outlets in the room. No ceiling lights. The room was dusty at check in and checkout. The staff did not do the bed the next day and did change all the towels after one use eventhough we were trying to be green and follow their own instructions on this.

We really liked the Hotel de l'Avre! It is located in an exceptional location!

We are just a few steps from the "La Motte-Picquet Grenelle" train station, line 6 of the metro, which is the line that passes through the Trocadero (Eiffel Tower) and Arc de Triomphe.

The hotel is still near to Mc Donalds, Bistros, Starbucks, and department stores!

The only downside, however, is that the wi-fi is unstable, we almost could not use it, but this did not spoil our stay !!

Oh, and breakfast is not free!

We will definitely be back.

This hotel is lovely, small and very welcoming. There is a lift which is welcome. The breakfast that is served is very good and well worth adding on. The location is excellent, so close to a metro stop. The Eiffel Tower and Les Invalides are in walking distance. It you are bothered by noise or light at night ask for a room overlooking the garden at the back. Our room was close to a light which lit up the outside sign which made it bright in the room unless the shutters were closed. However it is on a quiet street so the street noise at the front was minimal. It was warm when we were there at the end of May. No AC but there was a pillar fan which was useful. Many restaurants close by for dinner.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the garden are quieter.
