Everything is too compact

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 9 Jun 2017
I stayed here with family during our visit in Paris. This is close to La tour-Maubourg metro station. Eiffel Tower is at a walking distance of 10 min. Location of Hotel is peaceful. Breakfast is good. Room are compact, quite cramped for family of three. Lift can take only three person or luggage and not together, which is manageable. Red paint on outer walls of room is quite annoying. Breakfast room is like a small bunker, though I got habitual on day 2 of our stay

Location is good. Within walking distance to Eiffel Tour and other attractions. Also, close the Batobus, a water taxi service, which is a great way to travel the Seine and get to several different sites (Notre-Dame, the Louvre, etc.). Breakfast is an extra charge. We decided not to have pay for breakfast but ate at a cafe nearby for the same amount of money and a better ambiance. Rooms are small but clean. We had a lot of luggage as we had been traveling for two weeks so this posed a problem. Would have given this hotel a higher rating except I fell OUT of the bathtub because it did not have non-slip surface or a non-skid mat. Seriously bruised myself and hurt my back. Even though I reported the incident, the hotel manager did not seek me out. I had to ask to speak with him many hours later. He told me that having a non-slip surface was not "hygienic." Maybe something got lost in the translation but I am pursuing charges against the hotel.

Room tip: Ask for the largest room possible and be careful in the tub/shower!

My husband and I stay at Tour Eiffel Invalides every time we visit Paris, which is twice a year. Most recently, we brought along some family and stayed in three rooms. It is located close to the Seine (just two blocks up) making it easy to get to main walkways along the Quai's for sightseeing. It is also in a more spacious, less crowded area, which we prefer. Many bistros and fine restaurants nearby, as well as the beloved Rue Cler market. The rooms are comfortable, the bathrooms clean and showers large enough for my husband. I recommend the superior rooms if you want a bit more space and storage. The A/C works very well too - key for the surprise heatwave during our visit. The staff are exceptionally helpful and kind. Always assisting with luggage, recommending restaurants, advising on the best times to visit attractions, etc... Breakfast is served in the basement, which is an ancient cave with charming stone walls and wrought iron gates - do visit it. We think of this hotel as our Pied a Terre in Paris and always try to stay in the same room, with a balcony overlooking Boulevard de Tour Maubourg.

Rooms are very small and very close together. Everything is red and wanted to leave the minute I checked in. Breakfast is in the basement and is like a cave. Paid for breakfast but never ate there. Will never stay there.

Room tip: There is no view at all in this hotel

The staff at this hotel were very accommodating, including Bertrand who we saw quite often. It rained every day we were in Paris, so we were lent umbrellas our entire stay - very nice. My husband is quite talkative, so the staff were quite happy to engage with him. You always hear that people in France are not friendly, we just didn't see it at this hotel. The room was very comfortable - we slept great and very quiet on the 6th floor. The bathroom was small, but functional. We were able to adjust the temperature of the room to our liking - which made for a comfortable night.
The breakfast was great downstairs and the lady in charge even made more sausage for my husband when it was time for her to close. Very nice! The breakfast was $16 euros per day and was worth it.
The elevators were very small, just enough room for 2 people and 2 pieces of luggage, but that was fine it did not deter from the stay. I actually used the stairs a couple of times for exercise.

There were four of us in the family so they put us in their garden room which is a nice size for four people. The bathroom has no walls around the shower so everything gets wet when someone showers and whoever comes in afterwards needs to wear slippers (which they provide). Very uncomfortable. They are doing construction so there is scaffolding on the front. Price is good for the location.
