Just returned from a week long stay at the K&K Cayre. Overall, the hotel was great and would not hesitate to stay there again when we return to Paris. We booked through the hotel's own website so had breakfast included. We had asked for a nonsmoking room and was initially assigned to a room on the 7th floor but had to switch to a room on the 4th floor after the first night because the ceiling was sloped in bathroom in such a way that my 6ft husband was not able to comfortably fit in there without fear of hitting his head! After explaining the problem, the hotel moved us to the 4th floor the next day without any problems. Paid for a "classic room" which was the basic room, had a queen size bed, clean bathroom and free internet service in the room. It was not WiFi but had a cable hook up, wasn't the fastest connection but it worked. Large breakfast buffet was convenient on the days we woke up late and wanted to just eat and get to site seeing. Location was great, was able to walk to the D'orsay in 5 min, Louvre in 10 min and eiffel tower in about 15 minutes. Metro stop was right across the street. Everyone who worked at the hotel spoke good english, were very polite and pleasant. We walked back to the hotel almost every night after midnight and felt safe. Great place, will stay there again if we return to Paris.

We stayed at this hotel from July 1 through 11, 2009. We had the most wonderful experience. The hotel has the perfect location -- walking distance to many of the famous sights of the city and the best museums. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and gracious. Our rooms were comfortable, clean, and air conditioned. The breakfast is bountiful. The hotel offers all the conveniences you'd expect: business center, mini-bar, in-room safe. And the front desk exchanges currency, advises on excursions into the city, arranges private hires/taxis, and sells tickets to museums, cruises, etc.

Lovely hotel - fantastic location - nice staff......but

Got bill once home for minibar things which we hadn't had -we had already settled our bill and drinks etc - this had aleady been charged to our card before they even wrote to us- I rang them and they were completely disinterested and said that I must email them with my concern.
I did and they never bothered to respond to any of my emails - obviously this was a way of getting me off the phone rather than trying to sort it out.
It was only 15euro for a whiskey and an orange juice but it was the principle that we hadn't taken them and they ignored us and charged the money anyway.
S
hame as we had a good time but wouldn't go back there as would be worried that more mistakes on their part would cause them charge us for things which we couldn't then dispute.

Shame as we had had a great time but wouldn't go back after this -

I stayed at the K & K during spring break with my mom and teen daughter. We’ve travelled together before and have learned that we are most satisfied with clean, modern hotels with lovely bathrooms, plenty of space and access to the major sights. K & K delivered on all this and more.

Our room, a triple on the 3rd floor, had plenty of room to house our large suitcases and abundant clothes and shoes (three women, you see!). I brought some extra hangers, and with the ones provided by the hotel, our clothes were easy to access either hanging or folded on the shelves in the closet. The clean bathroom had 3 shelves where we each stowed our toiletries. The bathroom itself was lovely – natural stone, pretty fixtures and a great shower/tub.

The three twin sized beds were comfortable with feather beds (can’t remember if they were actually down or if they were synthetic) and an abundance of pillows. Each had a lamp, for reading, post card writing etc. The room was a good size – not huge – but spacious by most “city” standards. There was a TV with access to British Channels.

The front desk staff was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and polite. Their English was perfect, yet they allowed us to practice our “not very fluent” French. They helped us plan, prioritize and sequence our sight seeing – advising us on public transportation, tickets, crowds, dining, and other insider tips. There advice was on the money.

We loved having access to the computers in the lobby and business center. We were able to keep in touch with family and friends while waiting for our roommates to get ready.

The Rue de Bac Metro stop is outside the door; there is a bus stop across the street. Although we are not regular users of public transport, we found the system easy to use and convenient to most sights. The staff helped us map our trips, and was already with a street and metro map to help guide us.

We loved being so close to the River, Musee D’Orsey and Louvre. We enjoyed breakfast most mornings next door at the Café St. Germain. Wish I could find the wonderful bread and jam at home!

I would return to the K & K in a heartbeat. It is a topnotch hotel in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

After an overnight flight with no sleep, we took a restful nap in a very cozy, comfortable queen-size bed. Great comforter and pillows. The room darkening blinds were very helpful. Room extremely clean, but tiny as was the bathroom. We stayed here for 5 nights and had fresh, plush towels everyday. (a nice surprise). This was our first Paris trip and had the best time of our lives, although we were almost pickpocketed (in broad daylight outside the Rue de Bac metro). Since we wanted to see everything, we walked everywhere or took the metro (across the street). I recommend the Paris Pass if you want to experience everything. It included most sightseeing and unlimited metro/bus. Favorites were Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Army museum, wine tasting, cruise on the Seine and the Rodin. The Shell gas station next door great for snacks and drinks. Although the hotel was comfortable and convenient, it was pricey. Did not include breakfast. We found a great cafe on Granelle (few blocks away) for breakfast. Rick Steve's book was very helpful-unfortunately found out about the book after we booked the hotel. We found great cafes for dinner at Rue de Cler. We were drawn to the area and returned there many times. There were more positives and negatives. We were happy with the hotel but I wanted more Parisian charm. The hotel was very modern in style. Our room was on the 6th floor (609) overlooking the boring courtyard and plain walls. I requested a room with a view (even streetside would have been nice) but would have cost more money. Not worth it since we were barely in our room. As for the noise, it was very quiet. Barely felt the rumble from the metro. What a beautiful city!
