“An oasis of serenity 5 minutes from l'Arc de Triomphe”
Reviewed 30 May 2012

We booked this hotel based on positive TA reviews, using an Expedia offer. Our room was a deluxe overlooking the garden, and I would definitely recommend paying the extra for the garden view. Check-in was gracious and welcoming, and conducted entirely in slow, clear French that we had no trouble understanding. I believe all the staff also speak very good English, but we wanted to brush up our rusty language skills and appreciated the assistance. Luckily our room was ready even though it was late morning, so we were able to unpack and change before heading out to explore.

The room was a good size with huge windows opening onto the garden which is a small courtyard of japanese acers which rustle in the breeze and deaden any noise from people sitting in the garden. The soft drinks in the minibar are free (2 bottles of still water, one bottle of sparkling, a bottle of Coke and some OJ, replenished daily), but the espresso machine costs 1€ per use (we didn't bother with it).

We only had breakfast in the hotel on one morning - the petit dejeuner express which consists of a hot drink, OJ and small croissant for 5€. The other mornings we ate at the charming boulangerie/patisserie on the way to Charles de Gaulle Etoile, where 8€ will get you a hot drink, OJ squeezed in front of you, a large hunk of oven-warm french bread with butter and jam and a pastry of your choice, all with a view of the top of the Arc.

We found the hotel location pretty convenient, located midway between Charles de Gaulle Etoile and Ternes metro stations. CdG is served by the 1, 2 and 6 metro lines, and also the RER A line. The trasfer from Orly airport by RER was very quick and convenient, and the combination of metro lines makes a trip to Montmartre, Le Tour Eiffel or the Louvre very easy. The local area is charming and non-touristy.

But the best thing about the hotel was the sleep quality, which may be the best of any hotel we've stayed at (even Bellagio). The bed was topped with some kind of memory foam which moulded around us, and the total darkness and quiet (we left the windows open all night) made it very hard to wake up in the morning.

We will definitely stay here when we visit Paris in the future.

Room Tip: Pay extra for the garden view, the peace and quiet are worth whatever it costs.

A friend recommended this hotel to us and it was perfect! It is completely restored home and in wonderful condition. We stayed in the Garden Suite and it is one of the nicest hotel stays we have ever encountered. From the friendly staff to the unbelievable quiet rooms, it couldn't have been nicer. We will go back for sure. It is situated close to everything, but not in the busy tourist areas. It is a perfect size (approximately 40 rooms) and offers a great (optional) breakfast package. It has wonderful restaurants within walking distance and really anything you could need close by. We walked or used the train and found it very easy to get around. The facilities were wonderful and I can't say enough about it. If you can get the Garden View Suite, do so!

We spent 2 nights here in September. 2011 on a recent visit to Paris. We booked the hotel because we found the price attractive at the time and we wanted to stay in a different part of Paris. I must say, we were happy with our choice! It was a little difficult for our taxi driver to locate but thats because the driver was not too familiar with the area. There is a metro stop about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The room was bigger than your average Parisian hotel room, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was sparkling, plus there were audio speakers in the bathroom so you can hear what is being shown on TV while taking a bath, i think that its a nice touch! The breakfast was excellent with a variety of cold and hot food. There is also a nice garden where you can sit out. Oh, did i also mention free parking on site? And most of all, the staff were very nice. I would certainly return!

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the garden view.

On a recent trip to Paris with my mother, we stayed at this perfect gem. It was good to return, after our long walks, to a quiet corner. Parking is a huge bonus and the staff were always welcoming and friendly. Our room, overlooking an awesome city garden with a perfect view of parisian appartments, was well appointed, clean and warm. Definitely will return.

We decided at short notice to drive to Paris for a couple of days and so finding a hotel which was in a good location with the benefit of parking and competitively priced was important. We found the Regents Garden and I'm glad we did! It was a bit worrying driving there without receiving confirmation that we had a car park space although once we arrived we were lucky to find there was room for us. It's true the spaces are very small so I'm glad we took the Mazda MX5 and nothing bigger! The hotel was very pleasant, it feels small and boutique in nature. Our experience was of attentive staff and as others have advised, the garden is an absolute delight. We had a classic room, which was tastefully decorated and very clean, as was the en suite shower room. The location is good, and only about a 7 minute walk to the Arc de Triumph. I'd definitely return although once again, the lack of confirmation to park the car would be of concern if we chose to drive.
