We have stayed at this hotel at least 7 or 8 time over the last few years. As with all Ibis hotels it is fairly basic but you know what you're getting. The location is great with the Metro just down the road and the area is lively with lots of good restaurants nearby. Breakfasts are good and the staff are polite and can all speak good English if your French isn't up to much.
This Ibis is near Metro and many wonderful eateries. Ibis hotels is pretty much the same everywhere so you know what to expect. Clean, simple, no frills. You can wall to Montemartre. Moulin Rouge is also an easy walk. I love this pub/pizzeria down the hill that makes wonderful thin, wood stove pizza. The spicy oil for the pizza is yummy. A little far from central Paris but easy because the metro is nearby.
We tayed at the Ibis during our honeymoon in Paris last week. Although the price was high following are some pros and cons:
pros: located a few min walk from the metro and bus stop (Place di Clichy)
A great variety of halal (muslim) restaurants
A cinema closeby
Sacre de cour around 15 min walk
Very friendly and helpful staff, well versed in English
Clean room and bathroom
decent room service (daily cleaning)
A little pricey for the bedroom and bathroom size
We try to visit Paris every Easter for a long weekend and to vary the location each time. The Ibis Montmartre could very well be the one we will return to again and again! The location is perfect with the metro and the Moulin Rouge both an easy step away. Yes, it's a 'chain of hotels' and even though the decor may be 'functional'....who cares? Paris is for exploring and as long as you have a comfortable, clean bed to return to each evening and a shower with unlimited hot water and clean towels....what more do you need? We found the room to be plenty big enough for two of us and it was very quiet as we were at the back of the building overlooking the cemetery!! (Hector Berlioz is just one of the many famous people to be laid to rest there, so you are in very fine company!!) We have stayed in quite a few hotels in other districts of Paris, and paid a lot more for the priviledge, but for location and value for money, this cannot be beaten.....oh, and the 'eat as much as you want' breakfasts are value as well, as you won't need to buy lunch!!
