My Dear wife had chosen this hotel from those offered by a short break holiday company .Having arrived by taxi from the Gare du Nord we were warmly welcomed at reception and given the electronic key to room 51. The small lift seemed to take ages to reach the fifth floor but we soon became familiar with its eccentricity as we were on holiday in Paris and nothing seemed to matter as our time was our own. We found that our room was what I called bijoux. Excellently appointed, a trifle small but containing everything that we needed, including a very good wet room for showering. The bed was very comfortable, so much so that we nearly missed breakfast every morning of our stay. Breakfast was served in floor minus one - 1 as it appeared on the lift button pad. The food offered was of the continental type but as there was a great variety of items to choose from we enjoyed the change of diet. The coffee, although served from a machine, was very good. Although the hotel did not have its own restaurant, , Boulevard Voltaire has plenty to offer. Our first evening meal was at the Comptoir Voltaire where I had an excellent beef steak and my wife had comfit of duck, which she enjoyed very much. Another evening we ate at the "Le Dumas Cafe" where my wife enjoyed a Pizza and I had spaghetti bolognase. Naturally we enjoyed some of the local wine with our meals. We chose to do our sight seeing by using the Big Bus. This was good value, especially the two day ticket. There is so much to see in Paris that two days only scratches the surface. However we did really enjoy seeing the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Eifel Tower and the Moulin Rouge. Unfortunately it was the end of November and it was very cold. On our last day there was even a snow flurry. We shall go back but hope to chose a slightly warmer time of the year. Travelling by Paris bus and metro was an experience in itself!.

We arrived exhausted at 9:30 am for check-in (5.5 hours before we were supposed to) and our room was ready despite the fact that we'd only booked the night before (our original accommodation didn't work out). The staff were so welcoming! The room was perfectly clean and very comfortable, and the shower's water pressure was amazing! Convenient neighbourhood as well - right next to a metro station and not too busy as it's outside the touristy area. Would certainly return!

Love this hotel. Cozy. I first visited in 2010. The staff is the best. They truly care about their
clients. They will assist you in all things big and small. The place is clean. The shower is excellent. Located near the Nation train station. So many lines into the heart of Paris. Zyad is the owner. He is charming, so accommodating and hysterically funny. Mariette and Vanessa are the two of the receptionists and who are so there for you with tips, directions and their wonderful smiles. Again, love this hotel and these sweet, good people.

Room tip: A kind of neighborhood hotel...but so close to Metro to Paris sites...Will stay there again.

This hotel is by far one of the best hotels we've stayed in, very clean rooms, really helpful and friendly staff, who speak very good english and give you directions, recommendations and tips to get around Paris. The rooms are cosy and tidy all the time, with english channels on the TV if you don't quite know your french yet! The closest train station is a 5 minute walk which made it so cheap and easy to get around paris! Absolutely loved our stay here in this hotel and hope to come back soon in a few years time! For now... Au revoir paris! x

First stayed in April 2012 and knew we would book again when we returned to Paris. The hotel is not in a tourist area but that doesn't make it inconvenient. Metro stations very close. Our room faced the courtyard so it was quiet. Breakfast at the hotel is worth the cost; many options. Staff exceptionally friendly and efficient.
