Location is perfect. Rooms are old and room facilities are 3 star only. A number of items are overdue for maintenance. Restaurant Buffet breakfast very good. Dinner Menu limited and does not match surrounding restaurants.Staff friendly and helpful. The location is the best part of the Hotel

We stayed three nights from 26 October (2 adults/2 children) from London. Although a great location, we always had to search how to find the hotel and never managed to work out how to exit at the right metro exit. Upon arrival we were met by protesters (cleaning staff). We thought it was a local festival! But soon realised that cut up newspaper in the lobby and banging on drums and whistling, posters and shouting meant something was up. You couldn't hear yourself think. We were quickly taken to the first floor make shift check in and shown to our room before we could change our minds. Our room was 'ok' but didn't meet the standards of reception area etc. Room size and beds for kids was better than expected, but if you stay in room 420 beware of wet carpet from the shower outside the bathroom. Also, we would have thought they might have managed our view away from the building site which covered a massive area. But the hotel was very busy. Waking up to the building noise and protesters was awful. Didn't like the breakfast atmosphere at all - too many queues and people and there was a separate 'family area' (where we were sat on the first morning) with a balloon man who looked liked he'd just fallen out of a stephen king movie and very large screens showing cartoons, you just don't need first thing in the morning. We opted for the 'grown up area' on the last morning - much better and good value. The restaurant didn't have a great choice in the evening (and very costly) and shame the bar didn't have a separate snack menu. I don't think we'd stay here again - it was all very impersonal although the staff did their very best in the circumstances and nothing was too much trouble. If you are there with the protests going on ask for a discount - we got 50% off our first nights stay.

Stayed at the Novotel les Halles on a recent 3 day pleasure trip to Paris. The hotel is very well located next to Chatalet les Halles metro/RER making it handy if travelling Via CDG airport. It's also a stones throw from pont neuf and the bateaux's and Notre Dame. I think we were just unfortunate but the cleaning staff were protesting outside the hotel as we arrived. Regardless we fought our way through and luckily our room was ready early. During our stay the front of house staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke very good English and even put up with my poor pigeon French. The communal areas of the hotel definitely feel 4 star but the rooms do not. Our room was very bland had a really poor bed, loose fixtures and fittings and one of the towels was dirty on arrival. Unfortuanately the protesting cleaners ramped it up a gear on the third day of our stay and made it into the hotel lobby. Getting woken up at 8:30 in the morning by the constant banging on drums, shouting etc. was not great. What was even worse was having one of them feel it was ok to shout in our faces with a megaphone as we went through the lobby. I feel the security should have been tighter. There was certainly a lot of security around just they didn't seem to be doing a lot. To the cleaners, I lost all sympathy for you when you made it into the lobby and your completely unacceptable behaviour. All in all it didn't spoil our stay massively and I hope the protests were a rare event. It's not the best 4 star hotel we've stayed in but maybe par for the course in central Paris?

The lobby is filled with confetti and loud drumming staff on strike. No apologies or compensation from the hotel. Long line for breakfast table.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Location was perfect as directly outside there was a Metro stop. Although we never used it. The hotel is within walking distance to Notre Dame and the Louvre. We travelled with 2 children and walking distances were not an issue.
The room was a good size, comfy bed and very clean.
We had the full buffet breakie and it was great. 36 Euro per adult and our kids ate free.
The selection was perfect. Cereals, breads, eggs, bacon ,mushrooms, sausages, potatoes, cheeses, pastries, juices etc etc..
Would recommend to anyone.
