The location is great with quick access to the metro and much within walking distance. It is within close proximity to cafes and an easy walk to the Tuileries and the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, etc. The hotel is on a quiet street with beautiful old buildings. It has been updated but has also retained old character in the rooms and common areas. As in many old areas of Europe the rooms are on the small side but there was enough room for the two of us. The air conditioning worked great which was a big plus during the recent heat wave and there was a Nespresso coffee/tea making machine in our room. Breakfast in the cellar was very good with freshly cooked eggs available on request. The hotel organized our transfers which were reasonably priced and appreciated especially with the train strikes. We felt that the staff were truly interested in our comfort. We enjoyed our stay and would return if we visit Paris again.

Location couldn't be better. It's perfect for exploring St. Germain, 5 minutes from Musee D'Orsay and just a few more to the L'Orangerie/Tuileries/Louvre.

We weren't at the hotel much-- 95% because there's so much to do in Paris and 5% because our room was SO TINY that it was unenjoyable to be in the space. We moved rooms after one night because we literally couldn't open our (carry-on) suitcases on the floor of the first one-- the bed took up the entire space. My husband and I had to side-step around each other to get from the bed to the bathroom, and the towel rack hung about 2 inches over the toilet.

The second room was slightly bigger but still tight quarters.

Our interactions with the front desk staff were varied. 2 of the 3 we met were friendly, 1 was brusque/clipped/cold.

We would stay at another St. Germain hotel next time (stayed at Le Saint last time we were in Paris and would pick that one over this).

Dear guest,

Thank you very much for your review.

We offer rooms from different categories and different sizes. If you have lots of luggage, the best is to book a deluxe room that might fit better with your needs.
All our rooms sizes and amenities are detailed online. Reception is open 24/7 and there is always someone available to assist with the booking processes and give advises if needed.

I am glad to read that you enjoyed your stay anyway and made the most of our location and neighbourhood.

Best regards,

Alexis

We had a beautiful, long stay at the hotel in May. We loved being there. Best of all was Isabel and the staff who helped us and greeted us so warmly every day.
As many reviewers have said, the location is absolutely perfect. We had basically a Left Bank vacation, enjoying the cafés and restaurants, window shopping at the art galleries, and walking up to see the sunset on the river almost every night. We could also easily walk to the Louvre, Notre Dame, Luxembourg, and convenient metro stations.
The sweet building that houses the hotel has small spaces but so do all the buildings in that choice neighborhood. They are hundreds of years old. This hotel is decorated beautifully and our bathroom was very modern and light. Opening the window and looking over the rooftops was magical.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to a friend coming to Paris.
The location is great, one block back from the river and opposite the Louvre on the other bank.
It is in a lovely quiet street with beautiful old buildings and the hotel has been designed retaining plenty of this old character in the rooms and common areas.
A lovely winding staircase goes up to the rooms, and my room, whilst not huge, was plenty big enough for me with separate chair and table and lovely big double windows on to the street. Also with modern coffee machine/ tea making facilities.
I really liked the guest lounge area and honesty bar; lovely with a book and a glass of wine before heading out to dinner.
Breakfast in the cellar (cute not scary!) was more than adequate with freshly cooked eggs available on request.
The hotel organised our transfers which worked fine, even with our poor driver negotiating Paris traffic during the train strike!
Lovely stay.

This hotel is on a quiet street, literally a 5-10 minute walk from the Louvre. We were in the base level room, it is small, but who needs a big room when exploring Paris?! The bathroom was good enough, rooms were spotless and linens clean and plush. Yes, the elevator is tiny, and yes, you have to request the iron and ironing board from the front desk, but these are inconsequential. Stay here. You'll love the location for walking Paris.
