“Un hotel tres charmant!!”
Reviewed 6 June 2012

The New Orient Hotel is a great find! It is a small boutique type hotel located within walking distance of just about everything you need to see while visiting Paris. Half hour walk to Arc de Triumphe and the Champs Elysee, 20 minute walk to Mont Martre, 15 minutes to Opera Garnier and another 15 to the Louvre, Le Jardin de Tuilleries and the Concorde. There are also some nice cafes, and restaurants just up the street. We stopped off at a patisserie one day and picked up some croissant and cafe...sat outside and watched the neighbours go about their day.. We frequented the Cafe Les Dame just up the road and found the staff friendly and the food very good. New Orient Hotel itself...well..everything you want when imagining a french hotel. Rooms are a bit cozy, but charming and decorated beautifully. Everything is absolutely spotless and the staff are amazing. Michelline greeted us when we arrived and the other two gentlemen (I am so sorry I did not get their names) were so helpful and sweet about all our requests and questions. There is a breakfast room downstairs...and we chose to purchase the petit dejeuner each morning..and again the waitress was nothing but friendly and very professional. I would recommend this hotel highly. ...picture this, home from a dinner cruise on the Seine, sitting on the french balcony, sipping wine and talking quietly with your partner...nothing better!

Room Tip: If you leave your windows/balcony doors open, it might be advisable to request a back room. The fro...

Paris was our last stop on our first trip to Europe and I am so glad we stayed at this hotel. It took us a day or so to figure out the metro (don't judge...we live in Houston where you don't use it); but once we did, it was a breeze. The hotel is just a couple of blocks from 2 metro stations and I really enjoyed that it was in a quieter part of the city. The room was extremely clean and roomy. Above all, the hotel staff was the nicest I have ever met . It iis worth staying at this hotel alone just for how friendly and welcoming the hotel staff was.
My tips:
1. Take a cab from the airport!!! We attempted to take the metro during rush hour. Between the luggage, mass of people cramming into you and the heat....blow the dust out of your wallet and pay for a taxi. We ended up getting off not even halfway (having no idea where we even were) and catching a taxi.
2. Request a room with a balcony when booking.
3. Make sure your electrical adaptor has 2 prongs (not 3). The one we had ( which worked in Italy) was a 3 prong one.

Thank you New Orient Hotel for a wonderful stay and we hope to stay with you again!!!

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a ten day stay in the New Orient Hotel in May 2012 and had a delightful visit. We arrived early and they immediately put us at ease with cappuccinos in the lobby before seeing our room which was a twin shower room that was just perfect and very quiet with comfortable beds. In fact we moved to a balcony room later and liked the quiet in the interior room maybe a bit better. The staff is so very helpful and the breakfast room was delightful. The pitchers of coffee and steamed milk were a great way to start the day. It is situated close to several metro stops and is in a little neighborhood with locals sitting in the cafes and restaurants and buying baguettes on the way home. The Rue de Levis which is 2 blocks away has a wonderful market daily!

Room Tip: Interior rooms a bit quieter but it is fun to watch the sunset from balcony with a little table and...

Colleen and I have stayed at the New Orient twice, and enjoyed the second stay even more than the first. We've stayed in rooms facing the street with a balcony and in the back overlooking a courtyard. Both were excellent. The front has nice view while the back allowed us to sleep with the window open enjoying the quiet night air. There is a small grocery across the street and a nice bakery a half block away. There is a street market within walking distance. The metro is near by allowing access to all parts of the city. We looked forward to the restfulness of the hotel after a day at Paris' busy attractions. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. We really enjoy the staff and will stay here again when we return.

Room Tip: Street facing rooms have a nice view and some have small balconies with a table and chairs. The bac...

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. On arrival we were greeted with a smile and the receptionist offered to help us take our bags up stairs. The room was extremely clean and tastefully decorated and even though it was on the second floor facing the street, we could not hear any traffic noise which was good. Another plus was the curtains - they kept the room really dark allowing us to get to bed early after 30 hours of traveling! My husband and I both found the bed very comfy (especially compared to many other places we have stayed).

The breakfast was fantastic and you wake up to the smell of the croissants and pastries baking in the kitchen.

There is a mini supermarket across the road which is great to stock up on any essentials you may need and plenty of great cafe's and restaurants all located nearby.

Overall, for a 2 star hotel, this place is amazing! I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.
