Good museum, often with terrific special exhibits. Get the head phones because much of the museum has to do with sound. Good museum shop with collector CDs. Out on the edge of the city.

To admire all instruments of music and her fabrications, precious violins, also a Stradivarious from the famous spanish virtuose Pablo de Sarasate; many other decorations of instruments and exhibitions.

This museum is amazing! There are hundreds of instruments from different periods of history available to see and a great audio guide that lets you hear them as well. There is so much fine art in Paris that this was almost a welcome break from all those breathtaking Monets, Renoirs, Van Goghs, etc!

It's outside the downtown core which was also good. While we were visiting it was very empty of other people except for school groups of adorable, well behaved children. It was January so perhaps in the summer it's more crowded?

A very interesting museum, that's worth the distance from the city center.
Although it's a big museum, it's not boring.

If you perform, teach, or have any interest in music, then you should find this museum worth your time. Ancient instruments to Renaissance to Baroque to instruments from all over the world. Included in the modest admission price is the audio guide.
