“GREAT hotel, great location, great service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2012

We stayed tat he Castille for 2 nights in June and we could not have been happier. Close to Place Vendome, the Louvre, shopping, restaurants. Beautiful rooms, linens, nice bathrooms, little balcony overlooking the street. Our friends were opposite side overlooking courtyard both sides were nice. Bed was super comfy.
Did not opt for breakfast as it was 30 euos per person. We went out of hotel, walked left to end of street and there were several cafes which were perfect, not to mention a Starbucks!
The best part of the hotel was the concierge service. Benoit, Mickey and Patrick were very accommodating, gave us the best advice, tips, not to mention Front Row seats to the Vivaldi concert at Ste Chappelle on Monday night. Highlight of the trip!
Looking forward to staying at Hotel Castille again n the near future.

Room Tip: We had Deluxe rooms, 5th floor, 507, 509 were both great, nice and quiet

My partner took me here for my birthday as a suprise weekend away in paris. The hotel was amazing and very luxurious. He asked for a nice room and we got a beautiful one on the 3rd floor overlooking the back of the The Ritz. It was a good size and art deco style. Massive bed, huge bathroom, flat screen tv etc. The staff were very very friendly and the location is great right next to the main shopping street and close to the Paris Opera.

Room Tip: Ask for a supreme room.

I booked a Junior Suite with breakfast and a bottle of wine on Luxurylink. The hotel was everything I expected and more. The front desk was great. The location is perfect for Paris. I have stayed by the Eiffel Tower and near the Bastille on previous occasions and I prefer being near the Opera and the Louvre because it is so convenient for dining and shopping and getting around to the sights. The hotel is right next to the Chanel Boutique and on the road next to all of the high end shops. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant and bar are very nice. There is also a great interior courtyard. If I had a complaint it would only be that it was a little warm at night in our room even though the air conditioning was on (it was unusually warm in Paris while were were there) and the ceilings are a little low, but it is a historic building and the room was a nice size and the bathroom and sitting areas were huge for Paris. All high end finishes. I would stay here again for sure.

Room Tip: Book the Junior Suite.

Great location and nice decor did not make up for the poor front desk experience and other problems. I booked a junior suite with breakfast included. I was given a nice room on the second floor, not really a suite but this is Paris. The following morning, I noticed a foul smell in the room (like a backed up sewer) and went to the front desk to inquire (I never could figure out how to work their phones). They said they would look into it. After a full day of sightseeing, we returned and the room smelled much worse, like a bad portable toilet. I again inquired and the person at the front desk admitted that there was a problem with the sewer line backing up and we should never have been put in that room. Finally after an hour of hassling, they agreed I could have the empty room next door but wanted to up charge me as it was larger. No one came to assist with the move of all of our belongings or apologize for the problems. We missed our dinner reservations as we lost 1 1/2 hours dealing with the front desk and the move.
At 1 AM, the fire alarms went off for the entire hotel for about 45 minutes and the entire hotel had to empty out through the stair wells as the elevator shut off. No one was there from management or staff to explain what was happening or whether they actually had a fire. Eventually someone came to the lobby and said it was fine.
The hotel reluctantly gave me a 10% adjustment when I complained which didn't nearly make up for the poor experience especially considering it was a special birthday weekend.
