Owner description: This beautiful museum, once a railroad station, now houses a staggering collection of Impressionist art, as well as other items created between 1848 and 1914. In 2011, the museum is running a renovation of the top floor (impressionist gallery). Only ground and medium floor are accessible. The top floor will re-open on the 20th of October. Meanwhile, some impressionist masterpieces are not visible.

Paintings, sculptures all worth viewing. However make sure you leave sufficient time to really appreciate this collection housed in a very fine old building that used to be the Railway Station.

“My favourite Museum”
Reviewed 9 May 2012

I love this building with its sensitive restoration, the clock faces and its gorgeous restaurant as much as i do it's wonderful exhibits. I've visited several times, both alone and with others. This is where i brought my granddaughter when she was 18 months old and I so remember how three pictures really caught her eye. Who knows why these three, and not the others? I bought postcards to take home to her Mother as a reminder.

The exhibitions change regularly, but i still remember the emotion I felt when my eyes lit on the first real Money I had ever seen. And on another occasion, the wonderful sculptures of Rodin. Simply wonderful.

“Awesome art nouveau, impressionists, naturalism, symbolism...”
Reviewed 9 May 2012

Everything. And I want to own many things in it. However, only possible if you're a multi-billionaire, I think! Easy layout, beautiful building. Not far from Louvre, Orangerie, Pont Neuf over the Seine etc so easy to find.

“Concise and exquisite”
Reviewed 9 May 2012

The exhibits are concentrated in a smaller space than the Louvre so it was much easier to navigate without tiring yourself out too much. Skipped the long line with the Paris Museum Pass so do invest in one.
