Neighbourhood: Opera / Bourse
Description: Dear customers, you are most welcome to bistro lorette but for those who do not yet know our restaurant it seems useful to clarify some important details. Firstly we are a neighborhood bistro, not a gourmet restaurant, we have neither the desire nor the claim, we are only 2 to manage the facility 1 kitchen 1 bathroom, so there may have the expectation (reasonable) at your arrival. Cooking takes time, we take the time, do you have time?

“Wonderful food, mediocre service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2012

The first night we tried to eat here, the restaurant was full and we were turned away. This is a very small restaurant. I strongly recommend you make reservations (by telephone only, I believe). We called the next day to make reservations and were told we had to be there on time.

The menu is a fixed price menu, you can either order 1) an appetizer and entree; 2) entree and dessert; or 3) appetizer, entree and dessert. We tried to order one appetizer, entree, and dessert and were told, quite rudely, that was not allowed, so we ended up ordering one appetizer & entree and entree & dessert.

We generally don't drink wine so we asked for tap water and was told once again that it wasn't allowed and we had to buy a beverage (even though this was not indicated anywhere on the menu or in the restaurant). Throughout the evening, the server paid more attention to what seemed to be his regulars than to us.

Anyways, the food was delicious. We had grilled eggplants and mozzarella for an appetizer, I had the sea bass and my boyfriend had the lamb, and for dessert we had an amazing raspberry tiramisu.

All in all, the food was excellent, just be prepared to be treated like a tourist.....

“Good sandwichs and deserts”

The price is good, the quality too, but the variety of products took the attention being the best thing there.

“Our best dining experience in Paris”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2012

Bistrot Lorette is truly a wonder, run by only two gentlemen. One runs the front of the house, one the kitchen. Everything we ate was absolutely delightful. Highlights were the foie gras paté (made in house, served with apples and grenadine), the eggplant tart with fresh mozzarella and roasted tomatoes, the veal with a lovely light chèvre sauce, and the raspberry tiramisu (a raspberry compote with whipped mascarpone cheese -- not at all like the coffee-flavored dessert). But truly, everything was delicious, and for the excellent price of 31 euros/person (for three courses). And the gentleman at the front of the house was wonderful. Warm, friendly, understanding about our poor French, efficient, and impeccably well organized. Reservations here are carefully orchestrated, so plan ahead and arrive on time.

“Small treasure in Paris”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2012

We tried to book at this wonderful bistro based on reviews on Trip Advisor and the fact that it was in a delightful neighborhood near our hotel, only to discover that they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. We were fortunate to get an early reservation for Tuesday night. This was a truly memorable dining experience in a nearly four-week-long trip to Europe. In true bistro fashion, you choose entree/plat/dessert, entree/plat, or plat/dessert with a reasonable (especially for Paris!) price. As other reviewers have mentioned, the fois gras was amazing; indeed, every dish was excellent and beautifully presented. Two brothers - one is the chef, the other host/server - have created a true gem in a "real" Paris neighborhood conveniently near the St. George metro station. Be warned, this is a very small, very special place and you cannot expect to walk in to a table - try reserving or arriving early!

“Superiour quality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2012

Married couple on their fist trip to Paris.

Tonight we were going to dine elsewhere, a place recommended by our friends. We decided however to try another place because the brasserie we visited yesterday (was also recommende by other friends) was somewhat a disappointment. Not bad...but nowhere good either. After going through reviews on tripadvisor we decided to try out Le Bistrot Lorette. Long story short the dishes were amazing! The dishes played orchestras in our mouths, the service was elegant and non intrusive, the ambiance relaxed and the music melted with the food and the conversations. My wife again ordered fois gras to have a comparison to a simillar dish last night at the brasserie. The difference was so obvious that we almost wept out of sheer joy. Tonight our faith in french cuisine was restored.

We will highly recommend this place all our friends an familly visiting Paris. A gem!
