Couple night at BMK. The staff is really nice, the restaurant is well designed and enjoyable.
The food is wonderfull, tasty and unusual (for those unfamiliar with African cuisine).
A must try in Paris !

BMK Paris Bamako is a canteen style restaurant that offers african dishes, revisited to fit the parisians taste.

i particularly appreciated the fact that there were many vegetarian dishes available.

compared to a traditional african restaurant service is much faster, prices are higher, and dishes don't have as much flavour.

Overall great option for a nice lunch.

I was very curious about this restaurant after passing by several times, this area of Paris has an abundance of world kitchen restaurants so it can be a bit over whelming to pick a place to eat when exploring this part of town. However this place kept drawing my attention because of its stylish African inspired interior and shelves with special food products.

We decided to go for dinner and enjoyed a vegan senegalese mafe and a vegan durban salad plus a home made ginger drink. All the food served is from different locations in Africa, but they don’t do typical North African, Moroccan food who are already well established world wide with their tagine dishes.

The mafe was delicious and the salad too, it’s interesting to discover this kind of food because African restos are more scarce than many other world kitchens in general.

For dessert I had a slice with gluten free sponge cake with raspberries and pistachios, it was baked with cassava flour and tasted very fresh. A perfect ending with the aromatic Ethiopian coffee.

The service and interior are impeccable, if you’re curious about African food this is a good place to start. The prices are very reasonable too.
