I was recommended this restaurant by a friend in London. We booked a table several months prior to leaving Australia, online. We were welcomed into this amazing space by staff. The inside is truly surprising, when you have come in up the stairs from the Gare de Lyon. There is no strict dress code, so you are able to pop in before or after a train ride, or make it for a special occasion. The interior decor is mind blowing, so not-of-this-world.
We had viewed the menu online, and had decided to do the degustation, as we like to taste as many different dishes as we can. The dishes were of a very high standard, with many having the 'wow factor'. Creative and imaginative chefs have provided us with a variety of textures made with fresh and flavoursome produce & ingredients, complimented by the front of house staff, who were polite & courteous, whilst being friendly and fun. Each of the dishes was explained in detail to us, and any questions or additions/variations was handled without fuss. We had a dining time of 10pm, so the restaurant was not completely full, so we had plenty of time to take photos and enjoy our evening. Our meal finished at about 1am, after we lingered over coffee, and were never pressured to leave. The degustation menu was 105 euros pp that included champagne(my husband swapped for beer). The food was delightful and we were exceptionally pleased we came here. The next evening we went to a starred restaurant, and paid about triple the price, with 6 very boring dishes and not very approachable staff. Le Train Bleu was outstanding compared to that restaurant.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful fine dining experience in Paris, with the incredible decor an absolute bonus. We dined at the 2 starred Ledbury in London & Funky Gourmet in Athens, and felt this dining experience was not out of their league. Highly recommended.

This place is beautiful and set in lovely surroundings. We had the set "art" menu priced at 65€ for three courses including 37.5cl wine. Service very poor with the head waiter being particularly slow, firstly the drinks order was taken incorrectly and the wrong wine delivered then when finally corrected he tried to poor my wine with the cork still in! The food was ok but very average and I've had far better for half the price. I wouldn't waste your time coming here other than to look at the wonderful building.

This is the real thing has it was designed to be. A restaurant for travelers to relax before and after long train rides. It has a menu that you will find appealing but the interiors are beyond belief. The decor is original from the first day that it opened. Don't miss it.

Tripped the cocktail glass and dripped around the table
Asked payment before I finished my drink and before I would consider another one
Sat me away from dining room at 6pm without bothering asking whether I would consider dinner later
Chewing gum when serving
Gorgeous ceiling, prefer the cocktail lounge The Salons if you are not allowed a dinner table.

Le Train Bleu was recommended to me by an old school fried who resides in London. I made a reservation before I left Australia.

You are awestruck by the glamour of the restaurant when you walk through the doors. You can't imagine such a place exists in a train station.

I had read the menu online before arriving and had decided I would have the Degustation Menu.

It was truly superb. Smoked salmon, Fois gras, Fish, Lime Sorbet (to die for over which was poured Citron Vodka) Veal, Strawberries, Rum Baba (and the waiter left the bottle of beautiful rum on the table just in case he hadn't poured enough over my dessert) and lastly coffee.

An absolute dining experience made even better by the fabulous waiters who ensured my champagne glass was always full and explained every dish as it was brought to the table.

I lunched on a Sunday and the restaurant was full.

An absolute must for visitors to Paris even if you just have a coffee and come to admire the fabulous interior of this splendid restaurant.

Highly recommended.
