“Very helpful staff!”
Reviewed 29 March 2012

We stayed here for two nights during a road trip around Europe,

Rooms very clean and bed comfortable, a bit tired and old fashioned, but i must say you cant judge a book by its cover, we had everything we needed in our room and the water pressure and temperature was great, i enjoyed long bath after a day of vineyard and champagne touring!

Staff were very friendly and showed us a map of reims and where we should visit whilst there, less than a 10min walk from the hotel is a whole street of places to eat and shops, we didnt drive or take the tram anywhere, it was all walkable,

car park opposite the hotel is free, and does look a bit dodgy, but our car was safe there for two days.

We didnt eat at the hotel as we choice to eat in reims itself as it was so close by.

Would recommend this Hotel for short stays.

Room Tip: We had a superior room, which i would recommend

We stayed in a twin room on the 2nd floor and our daughter was next door in a single. Our room was small but clean and nicely decorated. It was well-equipped and warm, though the heating thermostat proved hard to control and we ended up turning it off altogether. There was good lighting and tea/coffee-making facilities in a cupboard with the mini-bar. The WC was separate from the bathroom. The room overlooked a busy intersection - when we stayed there was a funfair opposite - but the quadruple glazing cut out almost all noise, which was a relief. Unfortunately we could hear foorsteps from the floor above, but otherwise there was no disturbance. I was disappointed to find that there was a floor-to-ceiling, frosted glass window in the bathroom with no blind or curtain for privacy, and I felt very exposed while stepping in and out of the shower. There is a busy street outside and the light in the bathroom was very bright, which heightened my sense of vulnerability. Our daughter's bathroom didn't have an external window and if I were to book again, I'd ask for a room with more privacy. The hotel staff were very friendly and spoke good English. The breakfast was rather odd - cold hard-boiled eggs were on offer, with sliced ham (rather unappetising). For a hotel of this calibre, I'd have expected something basic but hot - there was an egg-boiling machine but it was switched off. The croissants were good, though, and the coffee was plentiful.

Room Tip: Ask for a bathroom with a blind or no external window.

Myself and two friends stayed in the three smallest (most inexpensive) rooms for two nights at the end of November for 75 Euro each, plus another 8 for breakfast.

Pros:
-- My room was ample in size, clean, with well-maintained fittings, decor, etc.
-- Despite being right next to a 6-lane road, the double-glazing meant that I could not hear traffic at all. Presumably in summer you can keep the windows closed and use air-conditioning.
-- The staff on the Reception (one of whom is English) desk were pleasant and helpful. They offered the use of umbrellas when it seemed likely to rain.
-- There is free wi-fi, though I did not use it.
-- The 8 Euro breakfast was ample: coffee/tea/chocolate, a croissant, a bread roll, jam, butter, orange juice. For an extra 4 Euro you can have cold meats, cheeses, yoghurt, boiled eggs, etc.
-- The location is next to a busy road, but only 5 minutes walk from some of the better restaurants, and about 10-15 minutes from the centre of town and the cathedral.

Cons:
-- None really, unless you are looking for somewhere under 75 Euro per night.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the road have double-glazing, and may as a result be even be quieter than the ones...

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on a visit to see friends. The best things were the friendly, English-speaking reception staff, free (unguarded) parking lot just opposite the hotel, and an easy location within 10 minutes' walk to the very centre of Reims (there is also a tram stop just outside the hotel). Were pleasantly surpised that the location on a busy junction didn't mean sleepless nights in our street-facing room. The decor was a bit outdated, and the breakfast was standard French stuff (rolls with jam or cheese, tea/coffee/hot chocolate, cereal, juice). Also, the shower mixer in our spacious bathroom didn't work - we got either ice-cold or near-boiling water. Otherwise, a pleasant experience. One of the lesser-known champagne houses, Charles de Cazenove, is next door, and we also had a nice little walk in the old cemetery on the other side of the junction. A new indoor market hall is being built on the other side of the road junction too.

We spent a weekend in Reims at the end of september and had a fabulous time.
The city is worth a visit, and when you do, this hotel is definately a good choice. It is situated very close to the centre so everything is at walking distance. The rooms are good, the double windows make sure all noise gets filtered. A free parking lot is opposite the hotel and it is quite big so no troubles finding parking space.
The staff is excellent!!!! We had some problems with our bank after paying the bill, the bank made a mistake, none of which was actually the hotels fault, but they were very helpfull in assisting us to solve this .
If we would go back to Reims we would most definately choose this hotel again.
