We made reservations for this restaurant from the States, as we had been shut out once before. They are always booked full, so must be doing something right.

My husband had their goose speciality and said it was the best main course of his trip. He still talks about it. Presentation was good, flavors were great, wine list was nice, with many Loire choices. Prices were moderate.

There is lots of parking in the big parking lot behind the restaurant. Just a stone's throw from the chateau and a nice area to walk around.

We'll be back next year.

As we have found several restaurants along the Loire closed for a September holiday, and as it was Sunday and Langeais has a market we booked in advance.

We chose 12.15 so we could come straight from the market. The menu was as seen on their website and certainly delivered! Everything was excellent that we ate from the set menu.

Interesting range of wines, particularly from the Loire, and elsewhere.

Friendly and attentive service with explanation of dishes if desired.

Although we were amongst the first to arrive it became apparent that the restaurant was full so very pleased we booked.

Recommended by our host at the Chateau des Essards, a great place to stay, this really is an excellent restaurant. A limited but varied menu provided plenty of choice and really delivered. High quality well presented food discretely served in a pleasant room with plenty of space. It was so good we booked for the following night on the spot. It was very busy both nights with lots of locals which is always a good sign. Given the quality of the whole experience the bill was a pleasant surprise..

Booked this place as it had come highly recommended... For a provincial Loire town with Chateau this is in a nice spot, the building is dignified and with a contemporary decor. The staff are attentive if a little nervous with a nod to fine Parisian restaurants. The menus are of interest and bode well. The wines are suitably heavy on the region and that is no bad thing. The three courses that were brought to table sadly did not live up to the expectation and brought what had been a splendidly relaxed and happy evening crashing down. Why invest so much in the fabric and the people front of house if you are to let amateurs loose in the kitchen. The food at best was adequate but in this location with these prices it was an insult bordering on the fraudulent. I fear that the diners we passed later that evening sitting out at tables at eateries dotted around outside the Chateau faired much better than we did and at a quarter of the price.

Despite a slight misunderstanding at the start over timing we were very pleasantly surprised by the standard of food and service. A simple menu, with limited choice was more than made up for by presentation, flavour and size.

One of the better meals we have had for some time. We had difficulty deciding which of the mains or entrees we preferred ending up in a tie. Pea pannacotta with ham or ceviche of prawns and tuna with grapefruit and passionfruit, mmmm. Then pink pork or guinea fowl...
