This is a recently opened Lebanese restaurant in the Faubourg St Jacques area of Chinon. The interior decor is attractive with wall and ceiling-covering drapes, creating a tent-like atmosphere. The owner/manager is charming and very attentive.
We visited on a Saturday lunchtime and enjoyed the Formule Gourmand. For our starter, this comprised some lovely bread, several very fresh herbed salads, hummus, stuffed breads, chicken wings with a sour cream sauce and falafel, also with a sauce. These dishes were served one after another, which was a great way to pace the meal .
As our main dish we then had a variety of meat kebabs, with rice, salad and sauces.
Desserts included baklava and barma. Both were good: the barma was beautiful, pistachios in honey wrapped in a shredded wheat like pastry and in a great-sized portion, not too much !
We enjoyed an aperitif, a bottle of Moroccan wine and coffee and mint tea followed.
The bill for four came to €127, which we thought was good value.
The only sad thing about this meal is that we were the only customers on a Saturday lunch-time in May.
