We stayed here for a week in May, it was not at all busy and basically that suited us. The room was clean and offered just enough space. It has a very good pool and the greatest advantage for me, as the driver, that as it's within 600m of the centre of Chinon I had a couple of days when i din't drive.

Room tip: Blocks A, B and C are not part of the main block and therefore are better

It's not a holiday if you have to be employed as service staff! Staying here, you are essentially paying them to keep their place clean like defrosting the fridge before you leave, bringing your own tea towels and buy your own cleaning supplies, cleaning the bathroom, making the bed for the next person, etc. I have stayed in most hostels where the beds are made and they clean everything for you.

The so-called "6 person flat" is only good for 2 people (maybe with 2 kids). We dread to think how small the 2-person flat is! The 6-person flat layout is cramped and badly laid out (e.g. we couldn't open the window in our bedroom because the bed was too big). Check-in and check-out take hours (you need an appointment!). The wifi works half the time. You can smell when the neighbours smoke, there is no privacy.

We will never stay at any Odalys in the world ever again, nor recommend it.

Good sides: it's very cheap, very quiet at night, the staff are super nice and helpful, the swimming pool is super, it's walking distance into town.

Room tip: Choose a 6-person flat if you are 2 travellers

We stayed for 5 nights in an apartment.
The place is newly built and well kept. Clean and nice.
The service was excellent.
The staff was positive, welcoming and helpful.
The apartment was fully equipped and was nice and cool even on hot days.
A few minutes walk to center of a cozy quiet medieval town.
Lost of nice restaurant and bars in town.
Baker is just around the corner.
A few minutes drive to large Leclerc supermarket.
Perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

Room tip: Try asking for an apartment close to the pool and with a view.

Despite the upmarket appearances including the resort like pool, this is just a jumble of poorly built, low quality apartments with poor internal layout. The rooms are tiny and the internal layout is poor.

Website suggested 24 hour reception but they closed at about 9pm and it also advertises continental breakfast but we were told that was only for group bookings.

It might be OK for a family looking for some of the facilities but we wouldn't use it again and can't recommend it at all.
