“Great Place for a stroll on a sunny day out”
Reviewed 2 October 2011

It was a beautiful sunny day in Southern Brittany. I said to my husband we must visit the Parc du Thabor before winter hits. It will be too dreary of a weather to enjoy outside. We asked Grandma Simone if she would like to come. We used the address from tripadvisor but got lost because IT IS THE INCORRECT ADDRESS. Do NOT use 11 rue de Quineleu! Luckily, we found someone who could give us directions. It's a lovely garden and it is well-maintained. There was a bird cage and a rose garden. There were a lot of people sunbathing on the grass. It was nice; nothing spectacular like the gardens in Paris. And the great part about it is that there is no fee. Great place to picnic in the park.

“Something for everyone and a rose for everyone”
Reviewed 14 September 2011

Try to get a map of the place - or you'll miss so much.
It has fantastic formal gardens, very large rose gardens with named roses as well as other flowers. Specimen trees, aviary, chickens & ducks and childrens play area. And CONKERS all over in September.

“Must see if you like plants and flowers”
Reviewed 16 August 2011

Parc du Thabor is mentioned in lots of guides as a place to visit and I would highly recommend a visit there. The park is quite large with a chestnut tree walkway, French formal gardens, an aviary, a snack bar and the highlight was the rose and dahlia gardens. We were there in August on a sunny day when all of the flowers were out and it was a delight to the senses - the smell of the roses was beautiful and the colours of the Dahilas were lovely. There are also an interesting Botanic Garden arranged in concentric circles including at a guess around 1000 different plants, all labeled, surrounding a fountain.
