Finding a place to stay online is fraught with all kinds of problems, and by the time you get it all sorted sometimes you can forget which place you ended up with. We got out our guide book, just before trying to find our accommodation in Dinan, and read "Don't miss: Rue de Jerzual".. That's when I started to get really excited about this place we'd found.

And there it was: a three storey medieval house, beautifully appointed inside, with a four poster bed in the main bedroom and windows that opened directly onto the street. A view of the church tower from the top bedroom, a neat little courtyard with a table, modern comfort on the inside, amazing historical beauty on the outside. So close to everything in the town that we were able to walk everywhere, and even pop home for breaks to keep our kids from being tired.

I've lived in four countries, and travelled all over the world, and I can't ever remember staying in a better place. The way it looked and felt, right down to its authentic wooden spiral staircase, was like something out of a fairy tale. For me, my husband, and our three kids: 14, 12 and 9 years old, this really was the most wonderful place to stay.

I really hope I get the opportunity to come back again, buy more pains au chocolat, and maybe ride a bike along the river at the bottom of the street.

Une maison totalement merveilleuse!!

How easy was it to book the property? How helpful were the directions to the property?

Kitchen & utensils Bathroom cleanliness
Other facilities & amenities Service
Liked best: The position and the look of the place
Liked least: The sink in the kitchen is in an awkward place, so keeping it clean was a little difficult (VERY minor problem though!)

A charming medieval town! Dinan gives an early century's live experience.
We were happy to have found and stayed in a 500 years old house, although the wooden staircases were a little bit hard for our mother of 90 years old. However, she managed to climb up and down twice or three times a day. The house we stayed in was ideal as it's situated not too high to walk up to the old town. At the beginning of our stay the house was a bit cold, which we thought it was because of the thick walls, but was getting okay after we adjusted the heating.
Ms.Wendy, the reception lady was perfect! She provided us with the necessary items such as milks, coffee, tea, etc to start up the next day after of our arrival as most grocery stores are closed on Sundays. She even lent us a portable wifi during our stay enabling us with the internet connection.
The small withdraw of the stay was that no local TV programs only English speaking channels.
Overall stay was very satisfying and we are happy to recommend this Getaway Brittany to our friends and family. We would somehow like to make a suggestion for the owner of the house to have this site also in French.
