Our family celebrated a birthday and Golden wedding at this super well-furnished clean house. It was extremely hot (36-38 for the first few days) and so we just stayed in the house, grounds and pool which was perfect. The pool was very clean and Gary even asked if we’d mind if he came to clean it half way through the week. In fact, Gary and Brenda were exceptionally attentive without being at all intrusive. They even left sparkling wine in the fridge and cards for our celebrations. We had a tremendous storm one night and they texted us to see if everything was OK despite the fact that the window of their caravan had blown out!! We were fine. In fact, I would say communication was excellent from the minute I made the first enquiry. Fans were supplied to mitigate the heat but upstairs was still very hot for us. The downstairs bedroom was fine! As it was so hot Brenda did ask if we could water their many beautiful plants which did take some time! However, we had the enjoyment of the plants in their garden. As the house is Brenda and Gary’s home it was one of the best equipped houses I have used. We appreciated the different areas both inside and out. The children loved the freedom to move around in the grounds at will and we were reassured by the pool alarm. There were beautiful views from the house and the stars were magnificent. When the temperatures dropped to the low 30s some members of our party took the pretty walk into Les Eyzies but it was still too hot to climb back up. There are lots of interesting things to do in the area. As it was so hot we only did the canoeing and the younger members of our party found the high wire area. We will have to return at a cooler time of year. Thank you Brenda and Gary for a great holiday in your home and your kind review.
We had a great stay at this beautiful property it was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay with our 3 grown up boys. Brenda and Gary were lovely and on hand if we needed anything and provided us with lots of valuable information to enhance our stay!
The Gite is just outside the village of Les Eyzies, in amongst beautiful woodland. The gite sits on a rise so views of the sunset from the balcony are amazing, many times during our stay we sat and worked there, this was a part holiday/business stay, (with a glass of wine, of course). Brenda and Gary met us on arrival, to explain and show us all that we needed to know, along with a folder that housed all the necessary information to the gite and surrounding area. The gite has everything you would need. It has a very comfortable lounge and dining area, the kitchen was well equipped, so was a great asset, as we ate in most days, plenty of cutlery and crockery. A visit to the local markets are always a must for us, lots of fresh produce to buy...then cook and eat, yum. The bedrooms are a lovely size, and beds are comfortable, a good night's sleep was had by all. We found the pool area and terrace lovely, though the weather was not too good for the early part of our stay, (it was mid september), but managed to get a few swims in the later part of the week, and generally relax on the patio, listening to the local wildlife.
As a family of 5 adults this was the perfect place to work and relax, we have visited the area a few times, so did not venture out too often, though we do recommend this part of france, so a big thankyou to Brenda and Gary for the use of your beautiful Gite. It was lovely to meet and talk with you both. Would happily recommend.
