Two o'clock on a Saturday lunchtime in Bergerac and there aren't many places open. The Crepery we usually use was closed for refurbishment. We found this tapas bar up a side alley. Not too promising from the outside, especially the smell of dogs (be careful where you walk!). Once inside we found a bar on the ground floor with a first floor rustic eatery.
There is a menu but everything is open to negotiation. If you don't see what you want, ask. If you want to mix and match, ask. One of our number is vegetarian, not easy to accommodate in France but La Bodega were very obliging.
We negotiated a bespoke "grande assiette tapas"; enough for four people. There was a good selection of nicely prepared food. Very tasty.
The whole meal for four, including a bottle of wine and a couple of other drinks, amounted to E42.00. We'll be back.It will be a hard choice between La Bodga and The Crepery!
