“good but not great”
Reviewed 3 August 2012

The location is good if your looking for a center hotel , however the central underground carpark is hard to find and extremly uneasy. The level that is next to the hotel lift is closed off so you need to hike up a closed section of the carpark to get to the hotel lift not very nice with heavy luggage . The smell of stale urine from the carpark is overpowering probably made worst that we left early in the morning before breakfast had started. This is nothing to do with the hotel standards but it still needs to be said.
The room was very clean , linen looked and felt new. Bed was very confortable. Towels where to the minimum we only had one hand towel and two midium size towels; all shaby and looked more like rags.

Booked to break up the journey back from Italy & spent 2 marvellous days exploring the city an surrounding area. The reception at the hotel was brilliant. I was given maps, shown the location of the hotel in relation to the major tourist areas, discount vouchers and a booklet on Strasbourg. The hotel is a 5 min walk to Place Kleber one of the main central squares and a good place to catch the local trams to get around the city & even a bus into Germany (Kehl). Parking is a little steep £27 for 3 nights & smells like a urinal - although the car was perfectly safe. The hotel itself had been recently painted but still seemed a little dated. However for the price you couldn't really complain - £136 for 3 nights for 2 people. Wifi was at best intermittent & once connected OK for social media but poor for web browsing. Breakfast @ 9 euro's should be avoided - cheaper & better fare available in town. Overall a very good economy hotel and Strasbourg worth a visit in its own right for a coupl eof days/long weekend. Try the 12 Apotres (Apostles) near the cathedral for some very nice alsacian beer

Room Tip: Try to get one overlooking the river - we had one at the back overlooking a garden area that was ful...

The Ibis Centre Halles is close to many of Strasbourg's top tourist sites. The main Cathedral is less than ten minutes on foot. Also nearby is the main pedestrian shopping area which also includes a wide variety of restaurants.
The hotel rooms are compact but the beds are comfortable and the staff very helpful. Parking is available in the public underground parking lot accessible from the hotel and costs 11 euros per 24 hours.
We ate in the hotel restaurant and it was adequate and reasonably priced.

We stayed for one night in June 2012. When we arrived, the reception staff were very polite and the check in was efficient.
The room was a typical Ibis room, compact and pleasant. The bathroom was functional and in good condition. An added bonus was a view of the canal and the cathedral. We did not have any problems with noise from outside.
The breakfast room was very pleasant; we had a view towards the canal. The food was all fresh and continually being refreshed. The breakfast staff were friendly, efficient and unobtrusive.
The hotel is located above the Parking Sebastopol, and has a direct lift to the reception. The 24 hour rate was EUR 11, and as we only stayed overnight, it only cost EUR 7.50 which was a pleasant surprise. You have to pay in the car park, as it is separate from the Hotel but this didn't cause a problem. I had told my TomTom satnav to take us to the Hotel, and it took us along the canal, so we had to go round the block to access the car park – I would advise aiming directly for the Parking Sebastopol and then taking the lift up.
This is the third Ibis in Strasbourg we have stayed in and it is the most convenient to use as an overnight stop. The direct access to the covered parking is especially useful.
