This is a tiny place with a few seat inside and on a wooden terrace over the river. Authentic local cuisine including delicious flambée. A great place to eat drink and people watch.

Get away from the the crowds at the Cathedral and the surly waiters/owners. Enjoy a Cremant and a flambée by the river, just a stone's throw from the Covered Market. But mostly enjoy the genuine smile of the owner, Veronique. The ambience is the perfect place to regenerate. And she will make you feel like you visit to this town was worth it.

We went for a day trip to Colmar during a week's holiday in Strasbourg. Colmar is very pretty and a real tourist trap as a result. We wanted tartes flambees for lunch so headed for La Fleur de Sel based on TripAdvisor. It's a smashing little spot right on the canal that runs through the town - little wooden punts filled with tourists sail past regularly. It's a pretty small set up so not many tables but the cheery, helpful waitress who spoke 3 or 4 languages constantly managed to fit people in.

We got our tartes flambees - they were very good - at on average 10 euros. This was very competitive compared to other places we passed and in a much nicer setting. Tartes flambees plus drinks for four came to just over €50 - can't complain at that.

Would definitely go again and highly recommend.

This restaurant so nicely situated! We got lucky and our party of 6 got the table in the 2nd patio/deck right on the river. Beautiful setting for a relaxing lunch! The food is excellent, don't skip dessert!

Stopping on our way from Metz to Bern we picked Colmar, pretty much at random. We headed to the Little Venice area and stumbled on this little restaurant. Nothing fancy, just excellent quality fresh food from a restrained menu.
