The drive up to the Riverside Barn was very pleasant. The surrounding area was stunning and even though the roads were quite narrow, it was still a pleasure to drive around. Jake promptly greeted us outside and was very friendly, informative and hospitable. Our first reaction to the room was a jaw drop; it seemed very grand. There were lots of lovely touches like the fresh local grown fruit for us to eat; locally sourced fresh milk and orange juice; complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits and finally, a delightful array of cakes and sandwiches. We were offered a breakfast with lots of variety on there including the option to bake fresh croissants in our guest house oven! The room itself was generally clean. The bed was clean and very Victorian in appearance. We had everything from kettle to fridge to Xbox and for once, the SKY TV signal worked! If I could make one negative comment, it would be that there didn't seem like much to do locally and we had to drive into Blackburn and Preston ( yes, it was that bad) to find something to do. If anyone knows of something to do locally in Ribchester, please let us know. The Roman bath was nothing to boast about too to be honest. Thank you to Jake for offering us the vegetarian option as our diet is halal.
