We stayed here this weekend and I have nothing but praise for the hotel. It might be council owned but from the minute you walked through the door everything and everyone was friendly and helpful. The room was beautifully clean with big fluffy white towels and complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. The bedding was spotlessly clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The evening meal was very good as was the service. The breakfast was also extremely good. There was a buffet of hot food as well as a continental selection to choose from. Overall we had a great experience and excellent vale for money. Well done

Honestly, even with the "other" postcode, I still ended up getting lost in the dark. Can management pop a little light over the hotel entry sign... The car park is also very dark. However room was clean, although blooming hot and breakfast was cooked to order. No doubt when I come back next year I'll still get lost!

Reasonable hotel but being council owned it shows. Rooms need modernising and beds feel like mattresses are decades old. Outside parking is dark at night is pitch black which is poor for safety and security not mention car park has been organised by clearly a non car owner. On upside it is clean and staff are amazing. Menu is limited but cooked very well. Chef needs a bonus for his handiwork. Biggest disappointment is the WiFi travelling for business and having to work 2mb down and less than quarter up is a joke. When a mobile signal gives 20times faster. Simple investment in by infinity would resolve it. Ain’t the best hotel but far from the worst. Needs some TLC and commence sense to make it a shiny star

The building is interesting and the staff are great. The breakfast buffet was the usual in warming pans -- not cooked to order. We had two single beds with mattresses in serious need of replacement. Also, the up and down channel buttons on the TV remote did not work. That might sound like a small thing, BUT, if you are not a local, and you don't know what shows are on what channels, having to punch in individual channel numbers gets real old, real fast. The room was nicely clean with plenty of hot water (first time I ever had to read the instructions to figure out how the shower controls worked) and the usual amenities.

We had a nice, but short stay at the hotel!
the breakfast is very good with lots of options
too bad I did not know the hotel before
as a Belgian, it was a bit difficult to drive to.
The hotel can not do anything about this, just myself ;-)
Because I had to drive through the busy center of Maidstone.
