I stayed at the Oakwood House Hotel on a Saturday night, although it is slightly hidden away the satnav directed me straight to it. There is plenty of parking so I had no problems finding a space, check in was very quick, all I had to do was sign a registration form and was then given my WiFi code and keycard.
I was only staying for one night and had booked a single room but was pleasantly surprised to find that I had a good size room with a double bed, tea/coffee making facilities and an en-suite shower room. The room was clean, the shower had good pressure and the bed wasn’t too hard so I had a pretty good night’s sleep. Breakfast was included with the price of the room and this was a buffet style with a good selection of cooked and continental offerings.
The only negatives would be the hotel seems a little dated, I couldn't get anything to eat after 9.15 (that was my fault, I should have checked) and the bar doesn't stay open late.
I had a comfortable night at this hotel, the price of the room was very good and this included breakfast, WiFi and parking (which was considerably cheaper than the local chain hotels) so I wouldn’t hesitate in booking this hotel again if I was staying in the area.More
