We stayed here in August and the weather was warm. When we walked in the heat of the hotel hit us and we commented to the receptionist and asked her how she coped with it when she only had a fan. When we entered the corridor and stairs the heat was unbearable and so was our room. We put the fan on and opened the window, which would only open by a couple of inches. We left our room and went for a walk; it was much cooler outside. We didn't sleep at all that night, the fan was just blowing the same hot air around. We left at 5am to catch the euro tunnel because we couln't stand it any longer. Because we were travelling around Europe I didn't complain because we didn't have internet access, so because I complained more than 7 days later, they wouldn't do anything except say 'we have to adhere to our terms and conditions'. A good nights sleep is NOT their guarantee and I will never use Premier Inn again.
We booked a one night stay here en route to Dover for a ferry crossing to the continent. I’ve stayed at premier inn’s before but this one our first visit here. Several factors make this open stand out. Staff are simply wonderful, friendly attentive and professional. Having taken advantage of the meal deal which offers dinner and breakfast at a discounted rate, we were delighted by the food on offer and once again the bar staff took the time and trouble to explain how it all worked. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and beds amazingly restful. breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked and prepared. Once again the staff exceeded our expectations. We shall return, again and again.
Clean and comfy enough, but no aircon (and when the window is open it's quite noisy outside, being next to a big road). Also, as with all Premier Inns, there's no soft lighting. You either have complete blackness (not safe with kids) or a whopping big light on that keeps you awake. We had to leave the telly on, on a radio channel with the sound down, to get the right balance. So yeah, that's it really.
Checked in around 8.30pm after a long drive from Disneyland Paris. Lady at reception called Anita was so happy and friendly. We had 2 rooms, 1 on the ground floor and another on the 1st. No air-con but was given fans. This was fine as it wasn’t too hot. Super comfy bed and massive TV and clean bathroom. USB charging point next to bed. Can tell this Premier Inn has been updated in recent years.
Would recommend to anyone travelling to/from Channel Tunnel/Dover looking for a night rest.
Would stay again.
