Description: We have owned and operated 294 cafe & bistro, we then moved to 616 Bury rd and opened as The Bank café, bar & grill. We traded there for 2 and a half years growing into a more high end casual eatery. Our reputation has grown from strength to strength and we have remained in the top 3 restaurants in Bolton during this time. We have now moved into the town centre in the new Vaults dining area of The Market Place shopping centre. We hope to be here for a long time to come.

Well what a great experience!
From the moment we arrived, a part of 6 adults, we were welcomed like long lost friends even though it was our first time here. Not only is the quality of the food very good, the presentation was exceptional! The Manager and staff were informative and very friendly without being over bearing.
Food for the six of us was served together, piping hot, even though we had ordered very different dishes.
House wine was very quaffable and unbelievable value at only £11.50 per bottle.
Can't wait to go again!

I have been to quite a few places to eat out and I can honestly say The Bank is my new favorite. If ur going for an evening meal, make sure u call and book. ☺

We had previously been for lunch and enjoyed it and read the dinner menu with interest.

On arrival we were greeted and seated, it was obviously very busy with a couple of larger tables in.

We read the menu and the choice was vast for such a small restaurant so the decision was very difficult.

This is not a place you rush your meal, everything is cooked fresh, it is not fast food. We were kept up to date with progress of our meal throughout.

For starter Mum had Chorizo and Prawns and I had Garlic Mushrooms with peppercorn sauce, it said with stilton but I couldn't taste that bit. Both starters were delicious.

For main course Mum had Blacked surf and turf, steak and prawn kebabs and I had the mixed grill. Both were well presented with chips and salad, I had mushrooms and onion rings with mine. The steak and prawn Kebabs were delicious and the prawns were huge and juicy, it came with a yoghurt type dip and our only comment would be that this would have been nicer with some garlic butter or even a loose sweet chilli dip for the prawns (this is not a criticism just a comment). The mixed grill was lovely, not over facing and really tasty, a nice selection of well cooked meats..

For desert I had the Oreo Cookie tart and vanilla ice cream, I would have liked a slightly larger piece of tart as it was so nice.

We had a couple of glasses of house red which was a nice Merlot and a jug of water.

We will be returning as there are so many nice looking dishes, we watched as so many come out of the kitchen to other tables.

It wasn't cheap but we made expensive choices you can eat reasonably from the menu.

A hidden gem of a restaurant which lived up to the reviews. We have added ours to the list!
