We stayed at the hotel last night and indeed was advised to book for the restaurant. I must admit it was very busy and the service unacceptably slow. We were seated at a table and given menus but not asked if we would like a drink, this took 15 minutes even to be asked. From the time of arrival to having starters on the table was 45 minutes. I had ordered a traditional prawn cocktail, it was certainly not traditional, arrived deconstructed on a plate. When I commented on this to the staff it was dismissed. For mains I ordered a sirloin steak, rare with Stilton and béarnaise sauce, it was not, it was medium rare with a Malbec sauce. There was a lack of attention this became irritating when we ordered more drinks and waited a further 25 minutes, total unacceptable and a waste of over £60.

It was obvious other guests were having similar experiences with wrong food orders and waiting times, we could hear comments but seems the staff couldn’t. Two gentlemen sitting alongside us ordered peppercorn sauce but received Malbec, they were dismissed too, like us, it was ridiculous to try and bluff customers. No apology was offered, no effort was made to rectify wrong orders.

Another anomaly was the restaurant is called Thyme but this herb was not present on any items on the menu that we could see, must admit it caused amusement, maybe rebrand a Time as “No Time For Customers”.

We were awoken at 04:10 by the fire alarm, not a major issues as we were leaving very early to catch a flight. What was of concern was there was no fire marshals to be seen on the fire escape route or anyone to lend a hand to descend from the sixth floor by foot, we’re not a young as we used to be. Outside there were staff but nobody did a role call of guests that we could see, shocking. We weren’t sure if this was a drill or for real, if it was real they were lucky not to have had fatalities due to the shambles of evacuation and the bottle necks of the escape route.

On the good side the hotel is well located but we not sure we use again due to the lack of attention in the restaurant and the lack of safety. Seems it was a relatively expensive stay for poor service experience, £140 double room including food in restaurant.

A good nights rest before an early flight with the bonus of a relaxing time at the bar followed by dinner, and an early night in a very comfortable bed. The ability to do this, and then walk straight across the road to departures was totally stress free.

I will keep returning to the LGA Premier - the location is fantastic for either domestic or international flights, particularly if you have to fly out early. Easy to locate from either terminal, the property is perfect for those not wanting to deal with cars or cabs.

Firstly I must say that the staff and check in is very good.
However room v disappointing.
Firstly when we arrived in the room the toilet was continuously flowing and reception had to call a plumber. We could not use the air con / heating as when turned on there was a horrible smell of drains. However most importantly the bed was awful. Clearly needing to be changed as it was badly dipping in the middle.
On a positive the restaurant and restaurant staff were very good.
