We came here as a party of 17 for a 60th Birthday we were greeted by the friendly staff in the courtyard. We were then shown upstairs to the top floor where a table had been laid for us all - I thought at first that we would be separated from the rest of the restaurant as here was a wedding and christening however this was not the case - the menu was varied and we had a lovely 3 course lunch - superb food and excellent service by all the staff who went to great lengths to ensure we had everything we needed - fabulous place definitely would go back.

Thank you for your review on Tripadvisor. I am delighted you enjoyed your visit.

Last Sunday was such a lovely day perfect weather for celebrating a milestone birthday, a wedding and a christening. Sunday lunch is always very popular and the restaurant sets off the dining experience perfectly.

Good food, excellent service and enjoyable company, what more could you want on your 60th birthday.

Kind regards

Haven't been here for a long while but friends wanted to go so we visited on a sunny Friday night. The bar was packed so we went straight through to the bistro, which was quieter. The menu isn't huge but there is enough choice, plus just one mains special on the board. I opted for blade of beef.

Our food took a while to arrive but was nicely presented when it came. The meat was slow cooked and tender. It sat on a large bed of red cabbage with a flavoursome gravy reduction. One roast potato had been cut up into 6 small pieces and scattered around the plate. For that I was asked to pay £18.

I get this is a refined hotel but I just found the food and drink very expensive and poor value for what was served. Service from the dinning crew was fine.

We visited the Bell Inn yesterday for my mother in laws 50th Birthday celebration. We celebrated with three other couples & booked four standard double rooms for a nights stay.

When we arrived, we were greeted by a lovely looking and very idyllic historical building covered in greenery. It is situated on a quiet road in the village of Stilton.

The car park was safe and easy to park in as the spaces were plentiful. When we parked there was a large green where a wedding was taking place - how lovely! We also loved the beautiful court yard, well and outside seating area.

Our room was pretty much what you expect for a standard double, with a double bed, ensuite, tea, coffee, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a balcony over looking the court yard. The whole building itself has a very historical feeling and is very idyllic and romantic!

The drinks which we indulged ourselves in were very reasonably priced and the seating area inside and out were perfect! I admired their gin list very much! There were lots of little places to sit and it was very quiet and serene, especially with the beautiful weather we experienced!

After visiting a few pubs around the hotel and in Stilton we enjoyed a pre booked meal at the hotel. The menu had something for everyone and was very ‘classy’, reflecting the hotel itself! I had Camembert to share & the hake fish, which I couldn’t fault what so ever. It was well presented and tasted excellent. Slightly expensive, however worth it for the food we received!

We very much enjoyed our stay and birthday celebrations at the bell inn, Stilton and couldn’t really fault anything much. The only thing we did mention was that our room was situation above the court yard and even when we turned in to bed at 00.00, midnight we could still hear people talking quite clearly below us. Other than that we had a good nights sleep and an amazing breakfast! a buffet of juice, cereal and fruit with the option of ordering some hot food also. Perfect! Would definitely recommend a stay in this beautiful little gem.

Thank you for taking time to review your stay on Trip Advisor. We are delighted you enjoyed the birthday celebration I think it is so much easier to relax and enjoy yourselves if you are staying away. I hope we see you before the next milestone birthday.

This isn't the cheapest stay over in the area but the hotel is well kept and stunning throughout. The food and wine were very good quality and the staff were very friendly. Another one of our A1 stopovers to break up the journey and this was the best one. The village itself was very quiet but easily accessible from the A1.
