This place has it all: comfortable rooms with amenities you need and want, handy walking distance to town, a restaurant and pub in house, friendly and hardworking staff. The in-House pub has a cozy neighbourhood vibe with plenty of music, conversation and vibrant activity. Beer on tap includes those produced by the local brewery five minutes away.

The Riverside Hotel honestly exceeded my expectations. We had a late check in, however, were greeted with nothing but friendliness by a man at reception who by this stage was surely at the end of his shift.
We entered our room and my god, it was so big. We had so much room and space and it really was lovely. Our bed was also ginormous!!! You could have fitted up to 4-5 people in it and it was so comfortable.
Our bathroom was also nice and spacious with really good lighting.
The bar and restaurant downstairs was lovely and if you're a fan of the gin they have a great menu.
Breakfast each morning was tasty and satisfying with no faults whatsoever.
The location of the hotel is perfect for town and in walking distance to everywhere but still far enough away that you're not being kept awake at night by noisy party goers!
There is no real car park for the hotel, there are a few available spaces outside the front but you would need to be on your a-game to manage to get one. However, there is a free car park about 200m down the road on the right which is ideal.
All-in-all it was a fabulous and enjoyable stay and will definitely be back in the future!

We booked into riverside hotel for a friends reunion. When I made the booking I had to change arrangements on more than one occasion. I found Michael at reception to be very helpful and he gave us a great rate. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Michael and and shown to two lovely rooms with riverside views. We got advice about pubs and clubs in the location and it was most helpful. When we needed a corkscrew he personally came upstairs to deliver it ! The breakfast was excellent in the morning. We will def come back to Riverside hotel Sligo

Room Tip: Ask for view of the river

Nice modern hotel within a five minute walk from the town centre. Pleasant staff and hotel was clean. Has bar and restaurant with a nice outside seating are overlooking the river. Our room was overlooking the river lovely view. Breakfast was just ok could have been warmer and as it was buffet style it could have been replenished more often. Downside is there is very limited parking at the hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a river view

This was our mid-holiday indulgence after a few days of staying with friends or self-catering, in the middle of our holiday.
We were greeted by Laura, a really friendly and effortlessly polite receptionist who soon had us in our room after a long journey.
Our room was nicely appointed with a view over the river, very spacious and all mod-cons. The shower, in particular, would be hard to beat!
Although we could have sampled some of the restaurants in town about which we had heard great things, we decided to take the easy option and eat in the lounge bar. Once I explained my dairy allergy the chef made me a bespoke dish of plentiful pasta, salmon, olive oil and freshly chopped herbs that was so excellent I had it almost every night thereafter!
The live music in the bar on the Friday and Saturday night were great and to the credit of the hotel's architects, once we were in our room we could not hear a thing coming up from the bar.
The reception areas and corridors are spacious, well-lit and tastefully decorated.
The location is great - parking on site can be a gamble but there is plentiful and inexpensive meter parking within 100 yards or so and this never created a problem. The town centre is within a 10 minute walk along the picturesque river and it is easy to locate using SatNav and the town quickly becomes easy to navigate on your own.
After we had checked out we noticed that our bill had overlooked the fact we had booked through Booking.com and as such we had been overcharged by a very significant amount. However, one phone call to Laura remedied this and she dealt with it swiftly and emailed me within a few minutes to confirm the refund, without any quibbling.
We would recommend this hotel very warmly to anyone wanting a comfortable and friendly base for exploring Sligo and its beautiful surroundings.
