“What a beautiful, peaceful, idyllic farm cottage. A real taste of the old Ireland”
Reviewed 10 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We stayed whilst visiting family from 27th December 2015 to 3rd January 2016.

Kieran met us and introduced us to the cottage and we immediately felt at home.
All home comforts were provided and some lovely extra touches like a gourmet home baked apple pie, chocolates and wine. Thank you so much.

Kieran from the first time we spoke on the phone in October I knew you would make efforts over and above the norm, making your guests feel really special.

Coming home after our days out we had the most restful nights sleep for a long time and felt truly relaxed and refreshed.

The peat fire and stove just added that cosy magical touch in the evenings,

We will highly recommend to friends and family.

Kindest regards,

Neil & Julie,

Lincolnshire.

It was a pleasure meeting you both and I am really pleased you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. I love having guests in the house over Christmas and the new year as its a very special time. It's hard to beat an open fire blazing away particularly on a cold frosty evening. That's why I provide unlimited turf. Good to know you slept well.Even though it's only 1km from the village the cottage can be lovely and quiet at night.
Thank you for your generous comments and I hope sometime in the future we will meet again at James Tymon cottage.
Until then all the very best to both of you.
Kieran.

I am very pleased that the cottage and grounds suited everybody in the family and that you had your best holiday in Ireland ever. What a wonderful thing to say.
As you say its a great base from which to explore the other counties of Donegal,Mayo and Roscommon not just Sligo.Hopefully you will be tempted to return to the cottage and enjoy the grounds not to mention a little fishing on our stretch of the river.Until then thank you for choosing James Tymon cottage for your holiday.

“Perfect”
Reviewed 5 May 2015 for a stay in November 2014

I was staying in the area for work purposes and wanted a "home away from home".

I got exactly what I needed, arrived very late at night but was kindly greeted at a nearby landmark so that there were no problems finding the cottage. On arrival both log fires were lit and I was shown round the cottage. There was a complimentary bottle of wine in fridge and a fresh desert. The location was perfect for work purposes. I'm very tempted to go back at some point just to relax in a nice setting in rural Ireland.

“Fantastic farmhouse”
Reviewed 11 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Just back from a fantastic stay at this beautiful cottage. Kieran provided us with everything we needed, the cottage has been lovingly restored by Kieran and the surrounding area is really well looked after so ideal for families looking for space and fresh air.

This is by far the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in by a long long distance.

It was a pleasure having you and your family stay at the cottage and it is very pleasing to know that it had all you needed for your holiday.Thank you for your very welcome endorsement of the cottage as suitable for families. It certainly has the space with 30 acres of land on which to stretch the legs. I certainly look forward to meeting you all again when next you come.
Best wishes until then,
Kieran.

“A treat for me the hubby and our dog”
Reviewed 6 October 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We decided to spend a week in Ireland at the end of August to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The house was stunning with so much character and lots of original features. Sadly for us the weather was not great but it was so lovely and cosy making peat fires and enjoying the cottage and the Irish hospitality. The welcome tray on our arrival with apple pie and bottle of wine and the provisions in the fridge were also very much appreciated.
I have to say the beds were super comfy and so high it was like sleeping in bunk beds and quite an experience. the only little niggle for us was the fishing, at the back of the house is a very narrow part of the river not really suitable for serious angling, my husband is a keen angler and we normally book a holiday cottages in Ireland with Lake fishing on site, other than this we found it fantastic and had a very nice holiday . If you have want a nice meal we loved the Oarsman in carsick on Shannon food was fantastic .

I'm really pleased the cottage met your expectations especially as it was an important anniversary. I'ts important to me that the cottage and farm buildings retain their original character. You were a little unlucky with the weather but it gave you the excuse to have a few turf fires in the stove and open fire. The beds are certainly higher than modern beds but thats because as you know the bed frames are original to the cottage.Thank you both for taking the time to write such a positive review of the cottage and perhaps one day you may return and if you do you will certainly receive a very warm welcome.
