“Look no further this cottage is superb, you will not be disappointed!”

What a find! An excellent warm welcoming cottage superbly located for touring this idylic part of Ireland. The cottages extensive lands were a gem for our Hungarian Vizsla who never tired of chasing hares and pheasants over the cottages extensive well managed lands. Needless to say she never caught any. Gurteen is a gem for Traditional Music which is easily walkable if one wanted to leave the car at home. Kieran was most welcoming and the now infamous apple pie was waiting for us when we arrived. There is an abundance of turf to keep the range and fire going plus this is backed up by cental heating if required. An excellent cottage and we all had a great time. We will certainly be back to Tymons.

It was a great pleasure having you and your family stay at the cottage. I am very pleased you found it such a good base from which to discover this part of Ireland. As you have found for those with pets the cottage grounds and paths have great appeal. Thank you for your kind remarks and I hope to see you all again in the not too distant future.

Thank you for your warm endorsement. I am delighted your holiday was all you hoped it would be and that the cottage added to that enjoyment. You have discovered like other guests that some of the best coarse fishing in Ireland is all close at hand. looking forward to having you back at the cottage in the near future.

“Exceptional in every way”

We stayed at James Tymon Farmhouse with our two young kids and our big red and white setter. We all fell in love with the place. Kieran's welcome was warm and the cottage is immaculate and fully equipped. We ventured out for a couple of days to Lough Key forest park. On the other days, we were perfectly happy to walk around the land and come back to a roaring turf fire. I can't recommend James Tymon's highly enough. Exceptional in every way!

I am delighted you and your family had such a good stay at James Tymon cottage. It was a real pleasure meeting you all.
The walks through the land and by the river are a particular favourite of most guests. Forest park in Boyle is a real gem with its beautiful lake, lots of walks a nice cafe and only a few miles from the cottage.
Thank you for your very positive review and I hope to see you all back at the cottage in the not too distant future.

“Amazing perfect cottage, Kieran is great. So clean, all you need and personal touches fantastic. Highly recommend”
Reviewed 13 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

I stayed at the cottage for a weekend with my husband, sister, brother-in-law, niece and my 2 labradors. Kieran welcomed us to his amazing cottage and grounds, just so perfect. In advance Kieran kindly organised high chair, stay gate and cot for my niece. Roaring turf fire, wine/ apple pie etc. kindly left for us. It has everything you need, so clean and cosy, just truely a home away from home. Our dogs loved it, especially exploring the fantastic grounds. The local village is within walking distance - we walked in with our dogs on the Saturday and met so many friendly locals with a lot of people giving a friendly wave as they passed. I can not recommend this place enough. I will definitely book again.

“Best Cottage Experience”
Reviewed 18 January 2013 for a stay in January 2013

We booked James Tymon farmhouse for 3 nights and ended up staying an extra night because we didn't want to leave. Kieran was so helpful, providing us driving directions and was there to greet us when we arrived. He had the turf fires burning and some much appreciated welcome treats for us. The property is in a great location for touring and returning to this lovely setting at the end of the day was perfect. We took our dog with us and she loved running and playing in all the open space that is available. The house is spotlessly clean and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking and preparing meals ( not always the case in self catering properties). We will be going back for another visit as soon as possible and look forward to taking friends or family in the future. Top Marks!!
