What a beautiful property and setting, the house is exceptional, pristine and so very comfortable, my family and friends (11 of us) enjoyed a long weekend here to celebrate my 60th and we all agreed we wished it had been longer, when I first started looking for a venue I looked to Louisburgh which is 17km away, although a beautiful place also, we agreed this was far better, pub across the road (the Quays), plenty of restaurants, walking distance into Westport (lovely town and shops), wonderful views, abundance of wildlife, listening to Oyster catchers, watching the tide come in and go out, the smell of the sea, sipping a glass of Vino. We managed to go to Croagh Patrick although these 60 year old legs would never have made it to the top, fair play to those who did.........so much to see and not nearly enough time, oh and exceptional beaches.
Everyone we met was welcoming and friendly.
The house itself (way better than staying in a hotel), had every amenity, Margaret has thought of everything, amazing library of books covering every subject you could possibly be interested in, a nautical theme runs throughout the house, plenty of room for each of us to have our own space and indulge in our own interests, be it reading, watching TV, playing the piano or just generally chatting and dozing. All in all a trip I will never forget and will certainly look forward to another visit sometime in the future.

“Beautiful stay”

I stayed in this beautiful house with my Mum, and two friends in early June. I can’t tell you how wonderful the house is, the location, and the lovely owner, Margaret.

We hired a car for the duration of our stay, and explored different parts of Mayo, Achill island being a highlight. We were extremely lucky with the weather, and we were able to enjoys walks from the house up to Westport Town, there are so many restaurants and shops, and we really enjoyed going to Matt Molloy's bar for some traditional Irish music. The harbour is beautiful too, with some really nice shops, a few pubs, and from there it is a short walk up to Westport House, which really is a must.

I would also mention that if you have time, to take a drive out to Ashford Castle, absolutely stunning, we booked an afternoon tea, and we really had the best time.

I highly recommend The Sheebeen pub, which is a 5 minute walk from the house, overlooking the Quay. The food and the atmosphere of the pub are great, and the smell of the turf fire is magnificent.

My Mum, friends and I are looking to returning to Westport and staying at the stunning Harbour Haven once again, we just felt so at home, and we felt very sad to leave!

So all in all, this property comes highly recommended from me.

Class, spacious, comfortable house with all modcons. The landlady was really nice and helpful.

A group of 7 friends stayed there.

Great location from where we climbed Croagh Patrick, went to Clare Island, cycled the Greenway & went out in Westport. Also convenient Centra supermarket 500m away and pubs and restaurants a few hundred metres away.
