“One of the nicest houses I have ever stayed in”
Reviewed 23 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

A large group of friends and family stayed here in July for one week. All I can say is this house is amazing. The house is beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable, with every appropriate amenity. The setting is magnificent. We would definitely recommend this house for a group of friends or a family get-together. Very impressed!

“Eco-friendly AMAZING custom built home”
Reviewed 13 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Eaglewood Lodge was beyond our expectations. The property was perfect for our group of 12. The owner was very accommodating and readily available for questions/assistance. The photos underestimate the beauty of this handcrafted home. A rural setting, a fire started for us on a damp day, a very clean well-appointed space, and room to stretch out after time spent traveling was just what we needed. Westport is about a 15-20 minute easy drive and a great little town.
The only negative was that we couldn't stay longer!

Liked best: The beauty of the handcrafted home with consideration of the environment and proximity to Westport.
Liked least: Some hot water issues with multiple showers - staggering times would be wise.

“The house itself was a unique experience!”
Reviewed 11 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013

We arrived in truely freezing weather to a roaring log fire . Eaglewood Lodge is a well constructed and beautifully designed house and warm as toast even in the coldest weather. Very tastefully decorated with individuality and flair and wonderful photos of the surrounding area which almost competed with the views! Full of personal touches but easy to relax and feel comfortable in even with 5 boisterous young kids. A very well equiped kitchen (we didnt need to bring a thing) with all the herbs and spices we could have wanted and cleaning stuff provided. Ample room for everyone round the table. Only a 10-15 minute drive to Westport. Dont let that put you off at all. Its worth it to get to stay in the house itself which is slap bang in the middle of some of the most beautiful countryside around. Mountains and forest are nearby, beaches just outside Westport. Two downstairs bed rooms with ensuites make it very suitable for any older family members (no stairs) and the spacious mezzanine joining the upstairs rooms was perfect for the kids to play around in and watch movies etc. Must also mention excellent showers and really comfy beds. Highly recommended.

Really good accommodation, brilliant for social occasions with great communal areas for eating, drinking, partying and chatting. Sizeable well tooled kitchen, entertainment system in the main living area.

Smashing view of the hills across the way.

“JCI Mayo and JCI Sheffield”
Reviewed 19 March 2013 for a stay in March 2013

JCI Mayo was established in 2011 to increase development opportunities for local people and to make a difference in the community. As JCI is a truly global organisation (with over 200,000 members in over 180 countries), the Chamber had the opportunity to encourage visitors to Ireland.

In June of 2012 the international aspect of JCI Mayo was strengthened through its twinning with JCI Sheffield - the oldest JCI Chamber outside of the US. Through twinning the Chambers share best practice and work together on key initiatives. For 2013, one of the main aims is to increase tourism to County Mayo and to support the Gathering programme.

As such, JCI Mayo arranged an official visit for JCI Sheffield over St Patrick's Day weekend. Members had a chance to build a stronger network, to participate in the parade in Westport and to attend the brand new JCI Achieve and JCI impact course. JCI Sheffield's Immediate Past President is one of only two qualified trainers for this course in the whole of Europe so this is an amazing opportunity!

The event has proven to be exceptionally popular, with JCI Sheffield taking direct bookings from Leeds and Manchester as well as local members. The vast majority of interest was from people yet to visit Ireland and we are excited to show off off our beautiful country and make sure they become regular visitors!

The Lodge was amazing, as you drive up from the main road you get the wow factor and it doesn't stop all the way into and through this spectacular venue.

Everything has had real thought put into it. Our guest from Sheffield were very impressed and so much so we have provisionally booked for 2014 already!!!!

Would highly recommend this as a base for holiday, team building etc
