Owner description: Listoke Distillery and Gin school has now moved to it's new Gin House in Tenure, Monasterboice Co. Louth. The experience is better and we've more space now able to cater for up to 18 people per school, including Corporates. Each person distils their own bespoke bottle of gin in one of our 18 copper pot stills. the afternoon also includes plenty of G&T's and finger food. Please check and book for availability of the school on line.

I received a voucher for Listoke gin school as a Christmas present. A friend and I booked it not knowing what to expect. It was a fantastic evening. The 3 ladies who were working the evening of the 11th of August (I'm sorry I'm terrible with names) were so informative, great talkers and well able for the laughs. After sampling a few gins we were able to make a 70cl bottle as per our own tastes. After labelling and sealing our bottles we could take them home. The entire evening was great fun from start to finish (approx 3 hours long), with lots of gin and some lovely food in between. I will most definately be back and will be buying vouchers as Christmas gifts for people this year too.

I grew up not far from here and its a lovely spot. We investigated recently for a coffee and a walk around the grounds and it was so peaceful. I've no doubt the gin classes are very special and I'm sure its a great spot for a hen!

Just 5 minutes from Drogheda town down an avenue lined with lime trees and horses grazing in the fields lies Listoke gardens and cafe.On this occasion we had booked afternoon tea for 6friends to celebrate the beautiful month of June. The cafe is in an old tennis pavilion modernised with the latest in coffee machine & loose leaf tea served from enchanting old tea pots & mismatched china. The baking is on the premises & very imaginative. One of our party is coeliac and we had said this when booking & it was dealt with efficently. The pastries both savoury & sweet were the tastiest & made with skill, the raspberry jam contains gin. This delightful afternoon tea costs €25 per person compared with the ridiculous cost in city hotels. We were offered mint tea as a refreshing end to the meal & this came with handfulls of fresh mint picked right outside the door. If the weather is fine there are tables on the terrace where the scent from old roses & the twittering of birds in their nests is sublime. Children are welcome & they will be thrilled with the ducks and baby owls which are handreared on the farm. This is a family run business & the care taken makes one feel rested & refreshed. Ample free parking and disabled toilets.

Myself and a few friends booked this gin school experience as a pre-Christmas treat and we have all been raving about it since. Really friendly and helpful staff, a warm atmosphere and a unique opportunity to learn about the gin-making process first hand.
The whole experience surpassed all of our expectations. The location and set up is fabulous. Our class size was just right: enough people for a good atmosphere but few enough to ensure individual attention from our gin instructors. We really enjoyed experimenting with the different flavours and botanicals and each came away with a bottle of our own unique gin.
Do yourself a favour and book accommodation in the fabulous Listoke House afterwards so that you can take full advantage of the free-flowing G&Ts!
