“Very elegant hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 February 2012

My husband and I stayed here recently. He was on a business trip and I met him to spend the weekend in Ireland. He stayed here for two nights and I for one night. The rooms are huge and had very elegant bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable. The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. I was trying to book a massage and there was a mix up with the phone numbers so nothing was confirmed. When I arrived they were able to schedule a Thai massage therapist to come in just for me.
The location is also ideal for walking around Limerick. Very close to restaurants, pubs and shopping.
I hope to stay here again!

Really nice hotel with great rooms and very helpful staff. Hamptons resturant and the cocktail bar are worth a visit. Only drawbacks room 302 had very little hot water and the car park across the road is a bit of a problem.

Have just returned from a one night stay in the savoy hotel in limerick. We booked the 'fit for a queen' package for ten of us. Firstly the package was such good value, afternoon tea with a glass of bubbly, dinner in the hamptons, twin room (with queen beds) and a full breakfast the next morning-all for €99 each. The afternoon tea was fab, we sat all day in the Liszt lounge eating, drinking and catching up while we were entertained by a pianist. A quick change and then dinner in the hamptons which had lots of choice and the food was superb. The rooms were very comfortable, nice touch that reception called you to see if the room was ok. Lovely Molten brown products, complimentary water and breakfast served until 12 which was fab as we were all looking forward to a lie in. Lovely staff. Really have nothing negative to say about our stay and we plan on making it an annual event.

Room Tip: As for one not over looking the street as it was a bit noisy on the saturday night. Also the pillow...

Great, modern, sophisticated accommodations in central Limerick, easy walking all downtown and a short cab ride from SNN.

Staff was very accommodating and room was ready upon my early arrival by request.

Liszt Lounge has fantastic food and live piano entertainment. A treat after a long-haul flight.

Room Tip: Let them know if you want an early check in immediately after your flight in. So great to have a na...

My wife and I have just returned from a lovely weekend in Limerick where we stayed at The Savoy Hotel. What can I say about the hotel, great location, beautiful hotel and lovely staff isn’t that what you want when away!!

We arrived mid afternoon and conveniently parked in Q Park at Harvey’s Quay, directly across from the hotel and not more that a minutes’ walk. Check in was seamless and the front of house staff were excellent and very friendly. Before we knew it we were on our way to the 7th floor, king sized double suite with balcony and access to the executive lounge. The room was nicely appointed with lovely décor and plenty of space, flat screen TV well stocked mini bar and tea and coffee facilities. We had a beautiful bathroom separate shower (rose head) and large bath, everything in there that you need and very classy Molton Brown products to use. Its items like this, just the little touches that make the stay more memorable. Speaking of which use of the executive longue was great, whether you wish to do business or just to hang out. It has a lovely homely feel to it, complimentary drinks and snacks, large flat screen TV and good seating area. Outside access to a large balcony with views either side of the Shannon and for those rugby buffs in the background a view of the real home of rugby Thomond Park!!

As I said above the hotel is in a great location, centrally located to shops, restaurants and bars either in O’Connell Street or Bedford Row and Thomas Street. We did some great shopping with all the major chains and brands around, there are also some good boutique shops. Loads of places to have drinks and just relax if you want and watch the world go by. If you are looking to get further out and have a good walk head to University of Limerick (UL) only €1.20 by bus and stroll by the banks of the Shannon with a great campus around. After the walk you can get a feed in the Stables bar or just drinks, head back by bus to the city centre in about 15/20 minutes. Continue shopping or just head back to the hotel, as I said centrally located so never too far a walk.

If you are looking for a great feed then head to the Hamptons restaurant which is only a couple of paces from the hotel. Head down the stairs to the restaurant which has a great vibe. We got this as a package from the hotel so maybe ask for it when booking. When we were there you had two options when dining. You can take 3 courses off the set menu or the equivalent value of €32.00 off the ala carte. We went for the latter option which just worked for us on the night. I would personally recommend the T-Bone steak and the spicy chicken wings. The staff were excellent always checking to see how we were but not in your face all the time, service was prompt but not rushed which is great. We left the restaurant feeling stuffed, with a smile on our face from having such a great dinner in a lovely restaurant and being looked after by such great staff.

There is a down side from getting a good feed the night before as it means you might not have room for amazing breakfast in the morning at the Savoy. You enter into a bright room and are greeted by the maître d'. He remembers your name, is very friendly and warm and brings a smile to your face when settling you in. The selection is amazing nothing stale everything freshly made to order. You can’t be found wanting after the spread they put on, fresh fruit, cereal, tea coffee, pastries, toast and a menu to select your main breakfast option. The two mornings we were there we had the full irish and the omelets and they were both cooked to perfection. The feed you get here can set you up for the day or send you back to bed for a lie down :-)!!

I do have only one negative point though the time we were there the hotel pool was closed for repairs however if you are looking for a city break and want to stay centrally in a great hotel, with staff like Sarah that are very helpful and can’t do enough then the Savoy hotel is the place to stay…!!!!

Room Tip: See if you can get a room with a balcony and access to one of the lounges.
