“Excellent authentic Asian food”
Review of Aroi

Aroi
Ranked #7 of 252 Restaurants in Kilkenny
Certificate of Excellence
Description: Aroi Asian Street Food is a casual dining venue that offers a single course dining experience and service with the minimum of fuss. Aroi (pronounced Aroy) is associated with the eating experience in Asia and means delicious or tasty. Our ethos is to serve market fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Our healthy cuisine avoids the obscure chemicals and additives so common in our food today. Aroi sources authentic herbs and spices and we do not use M.S.G. in any of our preparation. "Aroi is a hidden gem in plain sight if you know what you are looking for" The Irish Times "We picked a few sides as starters and, as I write, I only wish I was sitting down to them again" The Irish Independent

Class spot from the satay to to the fried Crab rice. Chilli oil is on fire so be careful, nice Athmosphere for midweek and could have eaten more if I wasn't so full.
Go visit!!!!

Well following our trip to Limerick on 16 September 2016 we decided to have an evening out in Kilkenny starting with a lovely lunch in Aroi in Friary Street.First impressions based on Friary Street being a side street kind of passage were soon allayed by the lovely premises that is the Kilkenny branch of Aroi.

We had taken the trouble to book as it was Sunday lunchtime and the place was fairly busy. We are regular visitors to the town which is only an hours drive from home and this time we managed to get a good deal at the Rivercourt Hotel.

The room is a very good size and the kitchen is visible and audible, the staff very friendly and efficient and our meal was tremendous. We had a very leisurely meal rounded off with the lovely ice cream that they serve. A main and a free ice cream was 10 Euro. The portions were very generous and we ended up having four dishes and three beers for 45Euro. We left the restaurant very content indeed. If you haven't been to Kilkenny on a Sunday, you will have not have had a chance to take in the Jazz at the Left Bank bar on the (left) banks of the River Nore. The craic here on a Sunday is worth the trip to the town alone. The Band who are a four piece are excellent (someone book them for the Late Late please) and the level of musicianship is outstanding. The seem to be the resident Sunday act and the locals have a nifty turn of foot with their swing dancing and jiving. Between lunch at Aroi ad the pub it was a great evening. WE will be going again soon.
