My darling and me decided to go to Killarney and after searching of good place to eat we choose to go in Great Southern hotel. Old name Malton, where my parents stayed once and had nice experience. At the etrance we were stunned how beautiful it looks inside. Vintage but modern. We looked first at BAR menu, casual but good offer. However, we decide to dine in Garden room, charming place with fife- course meals. It was very busy and we did not have reservation but manager give us beautiful table by window. Our friendly waitress from Croatia make our evening even better. We asked for recommendation, we listened and it was so delicious. Even she had lot of other guests she find a time to chat with us and help us with choosing desserts. We went full and satisfied. Thank you Maria and thank you Great Southern team!

We loved every moment of our stay here - Garden Deluxe room, with balcony and views over the gardens and mountains. Excellent food and good menu choices. Friendly, professional and obliging staff, great central location in the town yet quiet for a good night's sleep.

Last week I finally married my partner, we booked the Great Southern for an intimate meal after and were completely blown away by the beautiful dining room we had, the attentive managers and team who looked after us all night, my parents came over from the Uk and had Rooms in the Hotel and they were over the moon with the quality.

Excellent standards, better than some 5 star. Managed to retain the original Great Southern ethos but with a modern take. Food is very good and service attentive in the main dining room. The rooms are welcoming no signs of tiredness in such an old building.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Malton, it’s in a great location. The rooms are large and clean. Can go for walks or take a buggy ride to a nearby nature park. It was a great spot to go back to at night after touring Ireland during the day. Going back soon!
