The hotel is conveniently situated and is nicely decorated. The room was spacious enough but as with most older hotels in the age of electronics, the number of outlets in needed locations is woefully inadequate. The dining areas are lovely and three bars offer a wide range of atmosphere. However, the food in the formal restaurant was just above average.

Dear Craig F,

Thank you very much for writing such a great review regarding your recent stay in The Killarney Plaza Hotel & Spa.

Our location is certainly one of the pull points of our hotel as we are located directly in the heart of Killarney town so you can easily access the many parks, bars, restaurants and shows that are dotted around this wonderful town.

With regards to the power outlets, we do provide extension leads at our reception desk, which operates 24 hours a day so this may be some useful information should you return to us in the future.

At The Killarney Plaza Hotel & Spa we have three dining options: our formal restaurant Le Grand Pey, our Bar & Grill Restaurant which recently released a stunning brand new menu which you should definitely try and finally Cafe Du Parc, which has a fabulous brunch every Sunday from 10am-5pm. I am very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your meal in Le Grand Pey but please do not let this experience deter you from returning to us or please feel free to try one of our other dining options.

Again, thank you for taking the time to send us some feedback and we do hope to see you return to The Killarney Plaza Hotel & Spa!

Kind Regards,
Keira Finucane

Very nice hotel in the middle of town. Pleasant staff welcomed our group when we arrived. Room was nicely appointed with a very comfortable bed and bath robes were provided.
Only complaint about the room was the tiny TV 14” seems a bit small compared to other hotels. It’s the smallest I ever encountered, a 14” screen is even small for a computer monitor these days. Repositioning the overly large mirror would help accommodate a lager TV with the space issue as would using a smaller mirror.

Bar is very comfortable and staff is very nice.

This was the largest room and possibly favorite hotel. I wish we could have spent a day in the room and used the spa. It was a bit Victorian with the furniture and atmosphere but very modern, concerning the bathroom shower, etc. Breakfast was good, not as fulfilling as some others but they had the full Irish layout. We walked to the hotel from the train.
It seemed like a resort hotel like the Stanley in Estes park, Co. Well maintained as far as we could tell and quiet.

A lovely well maintained hotel. Heard good reports about the spa but unfortunately no time to avail of the service. Busy but very central. Limited parking spaces underground hotel. Dined in restaurant on first night, although food was good the service left a lot to be desired. 2.5 hours after first seating we had to ask to see dessert menu and have order taken. Appear to be extremely busy with large tour groups which results in smaller groups not getting adequate service. However, I would consider returning solely due to location.

This hotel is lovely and centrally located. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the breakfast is terrific. That being said, check in and check out was bumpy. Just not a lot of visible staff and not much enthusiasm. I’m not in favor of the 50 euro hold for incidentals either- it’s annoying and our other hotels did not require it. They seem over worked. This would not keep me from recommending the place, but would advise accordingly.

Dear Denise F,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review regarding your recent stay in our hotel.

At the Killarney Plaza Hotel & Spa we aim to ensure that each guest has a comfortable and enjoyable experience. As you said, we are located in the very center of town, we have luxurious and spacious rooms as well as many delicious dining options to choose from.

With regards to the 50 euro security charge, this is a company policy which we must carry out to ensure that a payment is taken for all rooms. This security charge is given back once the guest checks out, similar to a deposit. As well as giving us peace of mind, it also allows the guest to put through food, drink or spa charges on to the room so that the guest does not have to pay for anything until they are actually checking out.

I will ensure to investigate what happened with your experience with our front desk. I can assure you this is not a common occurrence and it is certainly not what The Killarney Plaza Hotel represents so I do apologise that you were dissatisfied.

Once again, thank you very much for passing on your feedback. I do hope we see you return very soon!

Kind Regards,
Keira Finucane
