I am just back from two days at the g hotel and from arrival to departure this hotel was first class it's modern decor is captivating I loved it the staff at reception were extremely helpful the rooms were spacious an again fab decor there is complimentary newspapers and water placed in the room every day the spa is very unusual loved spending time here the only negative with our package it included one complimentary visit to the spa each otherwise on a return visit it would have coat 20 euro each per house which is a bit pricy we dined in the restaurant on one of the nights they do a 3 course menu with tea/coffee for 36 euro each the service in the restaurant was first class especially emmet very professional the staff make this experience special a gem of a hotel in Galway and I cannot wait to return

This was a very nice ultra modern hotel with excellent service and beautiful calm guest rooms. On a strictly personal level, I had a real problem with the all black walls and decor in the hallways leading to the guest rooms. They were very dark and uninviting. The lobby level of the hotel is the complete opposite with bright colors, large open spaces and several areas to enjoy drinks, tea or meals. The hotel is on a busy road and the exterior looks more like an office building. "Shopping Street" with it's many stores and pubs is a short cab ride away, or a fairly decent walk. The staff was wonderful.

Room Tip: Ask for it.

stayed recently for a short break after we got married and it was simply amazing. We stayed in the Linda evangalista (not sure of the spelling) Suite, The most amazing room i have ever stayed in. there was a large bedroom a reception room a sitting room with views over the sea, a private enclosed balcony where we enjoyed a few bottles of champagne. there is a really cool bathroom with a stand alone bath and bevel edge glass walls and ceilings. this room is like no other you will ever stay in and i would recommend you treat yourself! The staff are amazing at the hotel. Friendly and welcoming. Lorna the receptionist when we arrived was so welcoming and friendly. The lady in the restaurant in the mornings was so professional and so nice. and also a lady called Sharon who id say was a manager took the time out to make sure we were enjoying our room and our stay. We ate in the hotel on one of the evenings and the meal and service was excellent. but the star of the show for me was the breakfast..... the poached egg Benedict is simply amazing. the attention to detail in this hotel is beyond belief. We loved every minute of it and we look forward to returning.

Room Tip: Have the poached eggs Benedict for breakfast

I read many reviews about hotels before I choose the g hotel. I was concerned because some reviews mentioned that it was out of the way, but it was only a 15 minute walk into Galway centre.

The hotel is great - very comfortable rooms, great service, great decor. The breakfasts- which were included in the midweek special deal, were fantastic - varied selection, plenty of it, and everything tasted great. Try the porridge with cinnamon and honey - it's addictive.

The staff at the front desk were always friendly and helpful. Looking forward to staying here again when I return someday.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with water views - lovely.

This was the second hotel in our tour of the west coast and whoo! This hotel was booked by my wife as a treat for my birthday so I knew nothing about it and I have to admit when we got near the hotel and could see it from the traffic lights I thought "what has she booked?" and not in a good way. The Hotel is located about 15-20 walk from Galway centre and the hotel has a small retail park at the rear and the first appearance of the building is dated but then you pull up to the hotel entrance and think aaahhhh this is more like it. Wee tip here, the hotel does valet parking and charge for it but you can park yourself in the underground car park which has a lift connecting to the lobby for free. Just follow the signs.
The lobby is modern, sleek and stylish as is the whole hotel. We checked in and we were given a lovely large room but we had no view at all. This didn't overly matter as we were heading into Galway town centre for the evening but as the front of the hotel overlooks a bay some of the rooms must have stunning views.
The Hotel has 4 lounges each with their own style and design, cream, pink, blue or purple the choice is yours.
We didn't use the spa so can't comment on this. Nor did we eat in the restaurant however the menu looked good but not what we were after that evening.
After walking into town and having a look around we were undecided where to eat and called the hotel for some advice, they were very helpful and pointed us to a Chinese restaurant at the bottom of the Latin Quarter. The restaurant was nice and good value with an early bird menu. Not the best I’ve ever had but tasty enough.
Wandered back up and stopped in a few bars with live music. Felt very safe and we felt comfortable enough to walk into a bar which isn’t always the case in many city centres.
After taxiing back to the hotel (5 mins) had a night cap in the blue lounge and chilled out on the large sofas before heading up for the night.
The beds are medium/hard but huge, really huge. The room also had everything you would need and expect from a hotel of this type.
After an amazing shower we headed for breakfast, which surprisingly, the main hot food wasn’t buffet style. I ordered a full Irish breakfast which was good and my wife had eggs benedict and she loved it, really really loved it.
Check out was prompt especially as I wasn't paying ;-) and we headed on our way to The Cliffs of Moher. About an 1hr 30min drive south (well sign posted) and well worth a visit. £6 euro for the car park and visitors centre was a little steep but glad we went.
